33x9.5x15 BFGs on stock springs

I'm probably not the first, but allow me to say it anyway:

HOLY FREAKIN' WOW!!! 40's are cool, 55's may be even cooler, but a clean 45. . . DAAAAYUM!

Thank you guys for starting this FAQ. I now know I can get away with these BFG's with the minimal lift I presently have. . . and they look FANTASTIC on the stock steelies!

Texican:

Are any of those 40s unlifted? Also, I know this is way off-topic, but do you know the name or color code of the green on the green and white pig?

Brian
I have an unlifted 78 with new 235-75-15 that I'll post pics of when I get them on Monday. They are the tall/skinny version on a stock cruiser.

theres a set in Butte Montana on craigslist right now for $500

?

I have an all stock set up right now- stock springs and rims. if I want to fit 33x9.5/15 tires, what is the LEAST amount of lift I could get without rubbing?? I don't foresee any serious wheeling on my cruiser soon so that wouldn't come into play yet.

I've looked and searched and its either a 2.5'' lift or extended shackles?? what size shackles? help.

The 9.5's slide up inside the rear wheel wells and don't rub. A mild rear extended shackle would be all you'd need if you wheeled it and really stuffed the tires. I have 33x9.5 BFG mud terrains and rear shackles at the moment and experience no rubbing.

Alex is right. I have 235/85 r16's basically a 32x9.5 tire and on my stock suspension they fit perfect at full flex. I think there is about 1/4" clearance between the top of the tire and the upper fender. 33's would give you another 1/2" tire height (radius) so I'd make a shackle 3/4" longer than stock and give that t try.

Looks like I can get 4 heavy duty shackles and new poly bushings from cool cruisers for about $170
