The Patrol blew a tire, and we had it changed in no time.

An old abandoned well.

Felt very good escaping the heat. For all we know this could be AZ or the CA high desert.

I was thinking the same thing, that the topography looks like anywhere in High Desert So. Calif, NV ...

Ordered a set of 3 lap belts for the rear bench seat from Seatbelts Plus. I've used these in my other Cruisers and they're great. Especially for the child seats, you can really tighten them down.

Came with all the mounting hardware

With front seat belt options somewhat limited, and after not getting a response from a seat belt supplier that others have used from the 60 section, I was in need of a solution. A couple of months ago I was down at the junkyard and saw a rolled GRJ79 pickup. Thought why not, lets give those seat belts a shot. Yanked them out and test fitted one into a 62 that was also at the yard and it fit with a bit of wiggling. So with that in mind, yesterday I went down to the dealer and picked up a set of front seat belts for a 2016 70 series.

Profile shot

If I recall correctly, the hook at the top wouldn't fit, but with some maneuvering we should be able to make it work. Will report on that tomorrow.

With ARB lockers going in at a later stage, I'm going to try to go for the OEM switch set up. We're missing the rear white connector that goes into the back of the switch. Still trying to track that part number down, as the dealer didn't recognize the number I gave him.

(This the white connector I need on the right. Anyone have an alternative part number, or a source?)

And the most important sticker thats going on the truck.:grinpimp:

Hello, may I ask the favour to tell me which exactly seat belts you bought from Seatbelt Plus? I'm in the process of buying rear seat belts so that I can fit my children's seat and would like to draw on your experience in ordet to buy a set that would work well!

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Got these seats. I have the 60" ones. Be sure to order the corresponding hardware as well

Absolutely love your build, nice work! Wondering if you have details on your winch setup? Looks like a factory bumper so I’m guessing winch is frame mounted? Winch model looks super low profile, what model? I’m trying to execute a similar thing and having trouble finding a winch that is small enough to fit in this area. Not trying to save dollars, just really like my bone stock setup and don’t want to bolt on a monster aftermarket bumper.

Wow @boozewz ; just read this entire thread. Great work indeed. It's been a few years since I've been to Jeddah but we want to get over that way sometime in the next year or so and do some diving. Would love to see your 62 in person.

Thank you sir! Hit me up when your next in Jeddah. The diving here is world class and we have some great barrier reefs where you can swim to without having to take a boat out.

Love the gunmetal 60. My family had a 1985 gunmetal 60 for 20 years. Now I drive a gunmetal 70.

How do you like those Yoko M/Ts? They are very derivative of the Toyo Open Country M/Ts.

It is one of my favorite LC colours.

I like the M/T’s and the aggressive tread pattern. Not done any proper off road trails on it to give feedback on performance. I just feel this 255 is too narrow for the 62. It’s a better fit on a 40. The 255 Cooper Discoverer A/T are a touch wider and has a better stance and are much quieter on the roads, but I’ve put them on the 45 Troopy. Planning the swap them over at some point.
