Fantastic build story and photos! Congrats on a very nice 62.

Question for you re: Dynamat and Dynaliner. How do you decide which one to put where? I'd love to lower the noise in the cabin of my 76 and am considering sound deadening. I know there's various products and whatnot but is the Mat supposed to be only on floors and Liner in the doors and ceiling?

Thanks @gkanai

I had bought 1/4" Dynaliner to go under the headliner, but then realized it was the wrong size so ordered 1/2". Once we installed the Dynamat on the floor and doors, I thought since we had a whole bunch of 1/4" Dynaliner lying around, to apply it on top of the Dynamat. Figured no harm in adding additional heat insulation. We need a bit of that here!

If heat is not an issue, the Dynamat should suffice

And here a couple of shots of the interior. I just realized I hadn't posted this before. Loving the 80 series seats, and the height of the console is perfect.

Still driving around without a functioning radio. Had the original speakers removed when we went with the stainless door cards. So will need a new stereo head, plus a set of front speakers. Not looking forward to drilling speaker holes into the door cards!

+1 on the console high, love mine. Now I miss having something for my left elbow to set on.
Sure wish @beno and I could get together on that wiper setup :flipoff2:

A small update. Just had a Safari turbo installed. Boost is set at 10psi and the fuel screw turned 1/4. Also running a 3" custom exhaust pipe with a Magnaflow. 3rd gear pulls hard now from a rolling start, and overtaking on the highway in 5th is now easily done. I typically see 650F on the pyro cruising at 100kph, which is a little hotter than I'd like, but then again its about 100F outside.

Went out on a short breakfast trip with @Mcladin last weekend.

Thats his '97 fully decked out manual 80

The coolant temps started to skyrocket (close to 220F) on the dunes, so had to shut her down a couple of times. The fan clutch is working, but it does not seem to be doing the trick with the slow crawling over the dunes. I did not change the rad since I bought the truck, so will be looking at maybe replacing it with an aluminum rad. Still looking at options before making the call. On the drive home on the highway, coolant temps were on the money, around 170F, so perhaps its just not getting enough airflow when driving at a crawling pace.

I'm not sure what you mean. an 80 series radiator not interior.
He's got 80 series seats and I'm wondering if it's a direct swap.

Indeed. Try fitting the 80 series Rad. That way, if you need to replace it down the road, it's easily available.

Good idea. Will take some measurements to see if they're compatible.

Can you explain the 80 series interior swap?

The bracket and sliders took some work to get the 80 seats in. Its no plug and play, so if I were in the US, I'd get the BMW seats and Torfab brackets. I actually scoured the junkyards for 3 series seats but had no luck so went down this route. We had to cut, trim and weld them to fit. At least I've kept it all Toyota!

May I ask the tire size please? I read the LT255-85x16. What would the diameter be, i.e: 31, 33, 35, etc?
Beautiful rig sir.

255/85/16 is a 33X10.5 tire. My favorite size.

Is the back seat from an 80 or is it just the 60 series seat reupholstered?

Hit the trails last weekend after work for some summer time camping. To escape the heat, we headed for the high country, about 2hrs drive from Jeddah.

Thats @Mcladin in his '97 80.

Another friend joined us, Ammourah, in his '14 Patrol, badly needing rear airbags. We tried to separate ourselves from him! @Mcladin cousin joined us later in his 2 door JK Wrangler.

Northing beats heading to the trail late at night with no one in sight....

Except we always need to be on the watch out for these guys. Not cool having them end up on top of the bonnet.

Low range and 1st gear engaged.

Rolling into the campsite, the temps were 16c at 7,700ft elevation. Down in Jeddah it was 36c.

We had a full moon that night, so could not capture the stars with the long exposure shots. We also had the cinema set up, but ended up shooting the breeze by the fire all night before turning in.

Got some drone footage the next morning, but with strong winds around here I had to keep it close by.

After breaking camp, we headed out and up another trail that looks like it seems little use.
