Might look nice to finish the side cover and timing cover the same way...Tomorrow I’m going to take the valve cover and oil pan to acid dip / black zinc it or some type of nice finish to it

hirschauto.com has some products I’m interested in trying out on my 1965 Triumph engine and exhaust. I haven’t bought any yet but I like the look of the cast iron engine paint.Cleaning up the block with some brass brushes gently & going to repaint it, anyone know any good quality paints for original look maybe satin black right? Update me what you like to use

Looking at the pic of the PS side of the block reminds me, have you addressed the potential problem of that oil galley plug on the head?Engine & Trans primer painted with heat resistant engine block paint / primer going to be satin black tomorrow

I don’t even know what that is, what do I need to do?Looking at the pic of the PS side of the block reminds me, have you addressed the potential problem of that oil galley plug on the head?
There is a hole in the head left over from drilling an oil passage for the rocker arms. Factory put just a thin metal plug in it to close the hole. Sometimes (just sometimes) those plugs work loose and catastrophe can follow. Many people, like me, remove the factory plug and thread that hole for a real plug, then weld or peen that plug securely. It never needs to come out.I don’t even know what that is, what do I need to do?
I love you, ok I’ll make sure to weld that thing in to save the engine! Great infoThere is a hole in the head left over from drilling an oil passage for the rocker arms. You can see it just in front and above sparkplug hole #5

So I’m trying to understand mine just looks like a regular little dimple, should I clean off the paint or just dump a little weld on it?There is a hole in the head left over from drilling an oil passage for the rocker arms.
