That is a great flare tool…. My problem with this kind of rebuild is I would never be able to take it out again. My 45 is like this and it sits on a carpet in my garage…beautiful job

🤣 I’ll keep that in mind … my motorcycle ended up like this, it’s in my room on the carpet

My wife would s#!t a brick if I brought my bikes in the house… I have built several that SHOULD have had that kind of treatment

Gorgeous bikes what is that last one with the plane in the bank
A 1925 Henderson Deluxe 4 cylinder inline…. 1340 cu.in. , rear brake only, 1st bike to run 100mph in the 20’s. For fun, they used to ride these bike between the rails of roller coasters…!!! They would also cut the transmissions off and use the engines in home built airplanes. Chrome was not yet available in 1925 so all of the plating was nickel

The handsome guy in the black t-shirt is me…. This bike was featured in Supercycle magazine and a mid-west calendar as the cover photo and the month of January While on Main Street in Daytona they came up and asked if the could photograph it at New Smyrna airport with the bi-plane. They said No naked chicks for the photo shoot….they did not want to take away from the bike…??? We were all taken aback…🙄

That’s insane, I’ve never seen on of those! I gotta look into it gorgeous bike

Here’s another tid bit on this bike…after it was in a magazine and a nice centerfold photo, a man is Switzerland sees the magazine and ultimately the photographer calls me and tells me this man wants to buy the bike. I’d spent two years restoring it from junk and I was young and always looking for the next old bike. Eventually, we come to terms $$$ and DHL picks up the crated bike and it goes off to Switzerland…I also had a red 1953 FLH ‘panhead’ fully restored that caught fire from a small poof in the carb. The two gas caps were like blow torches and charred the tank, frame and melted the windshield.

After all of that, I stripped it all down again and Harley Davidson started coming out with a black and white Heritage Softail affectionately called the “moo-glide”. I had repainted the ‘53 to look like a black and white Holstein cow…a real moo-glide. I get a call from a bike broker who winds up putting me in touch with another guy..also from Switzerland. He buys that bike and it winds up in the SAME TOWN as the Henderson 9 months later.

I love you, ok I’ll make sure to weld that thing in to save the engine! Great info
IIRC when I did mine I tapped the hole for 6mm machine threads and put in an Allen set screw, with thread sealant, then a stop screw behind it with Loctite.

The 2F engine upgrade and the four-speed transmission need a different style bar so I weld it on this original style bar or reinforcement frame bar whatever it’s called from the 1974 and newer
My original frame had damaged so I swapped it for another frame which is a 1971 frame and then I quickly realized that the rear bar is different
