I tried this method the last time I opened the brake lines on the 80, after a round of Motive Power Bleeder and traditional 2-person method. It might have made a teeeensy bit of difference but I doubt anybody but me would have noticed it. Still looking for a little firmer pedal. Full disclosure - I replaced 2 calipers and the LPSV bleeder screw. Then I replaced the bleeders on those 2 calipers. The upside is that this trucks pedal now matches my LX’es. Downside is it still isn’t what it was. I’ll try again with the Motive or go back to my old ‘length of hose from bleeder to master cylinder’ method.Several folks have had good success using a reverse bleeding tool which pushes the fluid from the calipers back toward the master cylinder.
I’d probably buy the reverse bleed kit if I didn’t already have the Motive. It’s hard to find good help around here!
