Just ordered these. They are 'on sale' right now: Cabela's TrailGear Seat Covers : Cabela's

Hey thanks for the link..just ordered a set. They didn't give me a shipping price and I am in Thailand for another month or so I can't pick them up at the store. It's a small victory to order something for the 80 as being the next best thing to being back using it.

I got some brown switch blanks out of a 3rd gen 4runner at the junk yard and used those to get rid of the nasty coin holders that are a festering cesspool of old coffee, soda and other gelatinous goop. I think it looks a lot better like this.

Coolant flush on my '93. 'Tis the season coming up for hot, steamy weather in Missouri. Always a fun mess. Most of the water on the floor is from washing off some engine degreaser.

Installed my seat covers..

Pricey! did you have them shipped from SA or pick them up during a visit? I would love to have those on my 87 RR but they dont appear to make them for that particular year/model

I purchased them off a member here who had ordered two sets. Yes they are expensive lol, tried ordering a rear set straight from M&M but have had no luck

It started with a little parking lot mishap.

No problem. Time for a new rear bumper :) Not yet, the well is dry, just bought a new front bumper so I will need to clean this boo boo up and live with it a few months. What the heck, I can repair that right, how hard can it be?

I dremeled to clean it up and then my first time ever to use bondo - uh oh!

Then one thing led to another, my bondo job was not that hot, so I started working on Plan B and took the rest of bumper apart

Figured I might as well match my rear bumper to my new front bumper and color it black. To help cover my less than perfect :) bondo shop I decided to spray with Rustoleum truck bed liner

Not bad, but then realized that dark grey center cross member did't look as good as I thought with black on each side. Time to disassemble again (Plan C) and paint the cross member.

Then I started thinking  before I put that mud flaps and bumper end caps again, maybe I should use this opportunity to take the flares off and get them painted, after all new flare gaskets have been sitting in the garage waiting for a few months now.

After nearly slicing my arms off squeezing through engine bay service holes to reach the 4 interior nuts on each flare, I thought I was in the home stretch. That is until I realized I have to pull off the front bumper to remove the last two front corner bolts holding the front flairs :bang:
It's a heavy beast with winch so I will need recruit some help.

So in short (yeah right) I started with boo boo on rear bumper and here I am taking off flares and front bumper...odd.

You dove head first down that rabbit hole!

@lcgeek That escalated quickly!

I smell a diesel conversion or LS swap coming in @lcgeek's near future...

This is a GREAT picture and deserves a repost

Thanks bro. Wife has printed, framed, and hung it in little dudes room.

It's interesting how many moments in life we take for granted but when captured by a camera at just the right time bring back such special memories.....what i was thinking, what we had for dinner, how fun it was having little dude be truly interested in what we were "fixing."

On a different topic, I was actually thinking about calling/pm'ing you in the near future regarding a certain a pop-top company's contact info.... I think I'm getting close to freeing up the requisite funds if you know what I mean.
