Well, the time has come for me to pass the Cruiser on down the road. I bought this off of Ebay in 2000 and had it shipped to NY from Portland, OR. This was back in the days of the pre-Mud LCML email list. It's been cross country a dozen times, up to BC, down to the SE US, and lots of points in-between. It spent some winters in the NE, but I did my best to keep it hibernating in a garage all winter and just drove beater FWD cars w/ snow tires.
Just about everything on it has been replaced while I've owned it, engine/trans/etc. and I've spent 10s of thousands of dollars and countless hours working on it over the years, but now it just goes on occasional hardware store runs and needs someone with more time than me to get out on some...

Alas, the time has come for me to part ways with this wonderful truck that has given us many good memories. Hate to see her go, but I've driven just 5K miles in the last six years so time for a new owner to enjoy her. I have owned this 62 since 2010. She lived her first 14 years in Dallas according to carfax. then was in PA, OH, and NY till 2010 when I picked her up in the DC area. Currently residing in the beautiful Adirondack mountains (come visit!) - close to Lake Placid, NY and not far from Albany, NY and Burlington, VT.

Looking for my "forever" FJ62 now that I've learned all about the truck and have fallen in love with them. I've budgeted $25K and am looking for something turnkey with minimal to zero rust and with the original smog equipment attached. I'm not looking for a pristine one because I plan to semi-daily it with the occasional off-road driving. I'm willing to travel to other states to test drive but am unlikely to make a purchase sight unseen unless the owner has been vouched for. Looking forward to seeing what you've got!

Cleanest truck I have ever seen, completely Rust free.
No caveats, running, driving 25 year old truck. Completely original and unmolested.
Looking to acquire a daily driver. Needs to have a Vortec or LS swap, prefer an automatic but would consider a manual. Bells and whistles aren't as important as a rust free frame and body. I'm looking for an FJ62. I drove one today and really enjoyed it!
I'm not looking for a pristine FJ, I don't have the budget for that. I don't mind some blemishes, so long as the rust is not compromising the frame. If possible, no leaks would be ideal (but could be a long shot in my budget). I'd likely be driving with my kiddo, so it needs to be in safe working condition.
This is not intended to be my daily driver, more a weekend warrior/fun vehicle.
I don't mind if the vehicle needs a little work. I'm pretty good at DIY and plan to use this vehicle to learn how to wrench better.
Budget is 20k or less.
I'm happy to provide more input, if there's is something I'm forgetting (which I'm sure I am)...
