ok I am all new at this posting forum thing. I have my fj40 on craigslist in the sacramento Ca. area. So I thought who better to get involved than a bunch of cruiser heads...;p I will just paste my add right here. Thanks so much for looking..
This is a 1976 fj40 land cruiser I have owned this fj40 for about 3 years. It was stock when I bought it.
It has 69000 miles on it. Since I bought it I have under 2000 miles on it. Everything listed below I have done to it or had done
to it so it all has under 2000 miles on it.. I just took it to the rubicon trail aug 10th.2006 It ran perfect the whole trip.
It has almost to much to list but I will kinda abreviate a little those of you that know what you are looking at will know whats up.
This is a trail proven tested land cruiser the only thing it needs to be
one of those 25 to 30k rigs is a little bit of body work so I think $18,000 is resonable to get for it.I will consider real offers of course.
This 76 year has all the good stuff, A heater that works good factory disk brakes up front, nice hard doors with good working windows.
Here is what I have done to it since I have owned it------
custom front bumper from pro comp,custom made rear bumper,
4 inch lift skyjacker soft ride springs,rancho rs9000 shocks in rear,
skyjacker shocks up front, 22 gal aux rear fuel tank,
front axel rebuilt new knuckel kits all bearings new 5.29 gears ,
rear end rebuilt new wheel bearings pinion bearings new 5.29 gears new lock right locker,
4 speed trany just rebuilt, transfer case just rebuilt, dual friction center force clutch, custom built 2 inch body lift,
new 1 inch hell for stout shackles, fiberglass fender flairs, 15x10 aluminum wheels,
35x12.5x15 new bfg mud terrains, custom swing away spare tire carrier with 35" bfg,
Ice chest jerry can rack goes on tire swing away, yakama roof rack on top of hard top,
holly carb, downey header ,custom exhoust, duel batteries with isolator, 8000 pound winch,
High lift mount on winch plate, custom full roll cage just put in, sony cd player with 4 speakers,
bikini top, nerf bars, rear tail gate to bolt in when top is off, power steering done right with saganaw box
drop pitman arm gm pump grant steering wheel, upgaded hvy duty berfields from newfield, probably a few other little things
I have forgotton but you get the idea it is trail tested and ready to go...
It comes with all the stock parts taken off and custom tow bar, soft doors, half doors, jump seats that go in the rear, hard top,hard doors, bikini top,stock carb and manifolds all smog stuff ( i will not be smogging it by the way)a bucket of spare parts and lots more..
I HAVE 40 OR SO PICTURES OF EVERYTHING AND THE DENTS AND wheeling pics..
so let me know what you want to see..
Now to say what is honestly wrong with it..
has some usual land cruiser rust on the front right hood, front bib is pretty bad, rear lower corners of tub, and rear bottom corners of hard top. nothing that cant be fixed very easy. the floor and rear deck is fine. see pictures..
It has a small rock kiss on the left front fender the right rocker pannel is hit a little .
it could use a bigger alt. and the oil pan leaks a little in the problem area around the rear main and rubber gasket peice area..
I am not some scam artist you can see the pictures I am not hiding anything and will answer any and all questions honestly or with more pictures if need be. Of course you should come and see it in person as soon as possable.
