I came across an interesting car lot last weekend. This guy has six FJ40's for sale + 1/2 of a fiberglass body. I only could snap a pic of three of them. I am currently looking for a fj 40 rolling chasis to finish my project. I need the frame tub and preferably the stock leafsprings. One with a blown motor/trans would be fine too. Any year fj40 is fine. I am located in NJ/PA and am willing to do a little driving so pretty much anywhere within 5 hours or so is good for me. Thanks!

this week i find out my wife and i are pregnant again, and with a 1yo at home and another on the way i just wont have the time and $$ to get it going again.

doesn't run currently. engine needs wiring. turns over by hand. oil looks good.
there's some rust in the rear end just beneath the tailgate on the passenger's side that will need repair, and the driver's side rocker needs replacement. it could use a new driver's floor pan as well.

I am selling my 1972 FJ 40. It has a hard top and doors, 6cyl, and 3spd on the floor, good heater, Racing buckets, NO back seats, Full roll bar. It is SPRUNG OVER with extended drivelines and break lines, newer shocks, ALL new breaks and lines. Only rust is in the bottom tail gate area. Runs and drives good.

She looks very nice and runs well too. Starts a little cold in the winter, but the choke takes care of it. Everything is stock, except for the 2.5 lift, 33 tires, and OME springs. Hate to get rid of her but the wife says the jumpers are not made for car seats. Go figure.
Known issues:
Wipers do not work - cause unknown
Head/tail lights do not work - I hit the fuse box with my foot and broke off one of the pegs that holds the fuse in. Pretty easy fix.
Rear diamond plating - who knows whats behind it - JUst being honest.
No hard top or Doors - All you get is the rags shown.
Also I have a Rear gas/H20 holder but don't have pics of...

Saw a buddy do frame off resto of an FJ40 back in Tucson and when need arose for daily-driver/dog hauler I jumped at a '73 for sale in my neck of the woods (Charlottesville, VA). Anyway, just titled this truck 1/20 and like an idiot didn't exercise enough attention when I purchased her. Got home and went to work on the frame w/ a putty knife and screwdriver peeling back undercoating on frame. Discovered rot through and through in front of the rear leaf spring shackles. Was okay w/ the body/tub patching as this was gonna be a beater anyway, but I'm not sure if this can even be box welded around. As the title says I have a barn fresh April 1974 FJ40 project. I purchased two as a package. I'd like to keep both of them but I can't so this one must go. It has a suprisingly good frame with surface rust and from what I can tell no rot. The body is pretty good as well with the worst spot being the drivers side floorboard but it is not rusted through. It could be used as is but would be an easy fix in that floorboard. The bed is good and the doors are real good. Windows work good and has the side vents in the windows. The seats are there but not that good. The tires are 33" Super Swampers with aftermarket rims. They have tread but show dry rot. They may work for the trail but not for the highway. The windshield is there but no glass...

I'm selling my 1978 FJ40 RHD to pay for my 45 project. I had it "sold" until the guy's wife complained. That's what you get for asking your wife!
Runs well, frame and underside is spotless.
I had a quick paint job done to even out some discolorations. Interior good/fair.
Brakes could use some adjustment and tires are a bit, well, tired.
Perfect for someone who doesn't want to deal with rust issues and have a good driver.

I'll help with shipping logistics but not financially. It would drive it to neighboring states but driving it across country wouldn't be recommended in any 40. Long disctance drive comfort wasn't an option on the 40 models.
