I thought I felt a rise in RPM's getting on my truck the other day. Have been scared to know the truth, but today I stood on the skinny pedal and was rewarded with rising revs and not rising speed. A couple of test pulls and yep, not enough...
I made a call to Roark to see if there was a lighter version of these springs like the FJ40s I installed that had just the two leafs and no overload.
Nada.
Turns out these are the same part number as a FJ60 rear according to him.
(Edit: that...
So going with the above comparitors I'll give the edge to the empty 70 with Parabolics.
It's not night and day better like I found with the 40 and the 45 that I did but it's better. If I compared two empty unmodified trucks (subtracting the...
I was going to say, I wouldn't be surprised if there is some engineering reason for the location of those spacers and you'll need to move them back.
It's like you have a piece of wood in there now for some hill-billy lift action.
I'm gonna say some Mud engineer might chime in and say I'm crazy but I don't see any issue.
Think the lean pads I've been putting in these things for years. They go on top.
I know why they are there. They could be completely removed if you...
Our FZJ70 is very quiet even with the windows open and MT tires under her. The driving environment is more like a street sedan rather than a Cruiser.
Due to this, I look forward to an opportunity to road test your gem and experience true quiet...
Aight, I put my thinking cap on and came up with the obvious fix for the ass high aspect.
These springs come with 2 spacers that are only there to fill the gap for a standard Ubolt setup to work. Without them most units would possibly bottom out...
I can't remember if it was on my Instagram page or in my FZJ70 build thread that I polled the 255/85-16 versus the 285/75-16
For this style 70 the vote was 9 out of 10 people liked the looks of the wider tire in the shorty 70
So.....I decided...
This one had been sitting in the owner’s garage for about 10 years until he got released; he asked the kids not to touch it.
The place was dry in the mountains. Had no AC or heater, but we added stock units. Then we went crazy with weather...
Got the front installed with some new swaybar links.
Look how crazy clean this hardware is. The washers were still gold
This is the swaybar ends I use. They sell at Auto Zone and they fit 70s and 60s.
The Terrain Tamer steering dampener...
Trip was a muddy mess, but the motel was flawless. I saw a peak of 820w of solar generation, and something like 8 or 9 total kwh generated on the road. Pretty ****in good.
Got some more landscaping:
Sun shade is pretty nice too:
Had...
Meshal,
You are proven miracle. I have confidence that you can find more exceptionally clean trucks. Watching eagerly from the sidelines at what you find next. Kudos to you sir.
this one along with @LDowney truck are the cleanest shories i tried. both of them had bad shocks but they are solid as a rock with no noises.
from my side, all parts were oem except the stripes are high quality after market.
Whoever is going...
My caption is wrong. This thing has 114,000 km which is closer to 70,000
Here is a video I made for the guy that said he wanted it so I imported it for him.
Then he ghosted me. He offered to give me a deposit and I mistakenly trusted him.
Oh...
