I take it that that stayed with the old windshield and my man didn’t replace it (Safelite) or bother to inform me about the issue.

Is there anything I can do without having the windshield removed? Part number?
The wiper heaters are integrated into the windshield. The original wires would have run right into the bottom of the panel. The wiper heaters were an option from toyota (though I think standard equipment in US), so it's possible they installed a panel into yours that just doesn't have them.

Leaving the wires hanging and the open spot on the connector is the worst kind of laziness.

For those who have replaced their cowl, which part number did you purchase?

So far I've seen 3 different part numbers from the various threads regarding this type of leak: 55708-60101, 55708-60091, or 55708-60121.

-60101 is the direct replacement
-60091 is the same without the metal grille behind the passenger side vents, is cheaper
