FJ60s like crazy.

My daily driver in the mid 1990s was an ‘85 FJ60. It was working great for me until they raised the state speed limit to 75. I was forced to purchase a new 1998 4Runner.

Last year a non-running, non braking FJ60 was for sale in a field along the road in the northern NM mountains. It did not sell, all summer, and in the fall I made a rescue purchase.

Since then I have picked up another rescue FJ60, and then a surprisingly good seal on a rust free FJ60.

Jim C wrote me that there is an Emissions Service manual on this form with which I can test my carbs. Any one know where I can find it. (So far I have failed)

Thanks

Welcome to MUD! Here's where you can get all the manuals for the FJ60.

Got any photos of this rescue truck? We'd love to see it.

Pcs of the condition when I bought it. The mechanical fuel pump was shot so it had pumped fuel into crank case. Carb float valve gummed so even after placing an electric fuel pump, no fuel into the carb. Only functioning brake was the right emergency brake

Totally rebuilding the rear drum brakes. New master brake cylinder and all new flexible brake lines. Need to put on a temporary functioning carb until I rebuild this one. Then will be able to drive it out of the garage. Right now is up on 4 jack stands.

Someone put on shocks that ate too long, so all the shock mounts are broken oof.

Not many people could see through the mouse nest and crap inside to visualize the beauty it will become. At least I have not met one when I show the pics.

It is a full on rescue FJ60!
