1979 fj-40 no rust original
1979 72500 miles, factory power steering,not sure if the winch is a factory or dealer option.dealer installed a/c converted to on board air.hard top,almost new softop,bikini top soft doors.custom bumper rack wet okala seat covers ome suspension original 373 gears,trans and transfer case and engine.33x10.50 tires tuffy center and rear locking cargo box.Holley carb.It has been painted once with no evidence of rust or body damage or bondo,past or present.
The real value to me is that it is a rust free vehicle after years of wrenching on rusty crap in the northeast I vowed I would never own a vehicle with rust,so I paid a little extra and never regretted it.

I have an '82 FJ40 that im selling due to no time or $$. It is a project i bought about 3 years ago and havent touched.
The frame was sandblasted and coated with POR15 and all body panels including tub have been sandblasted.
Includes too many new parts to list but heres a small example: painless wiring harness, new ceramic headers,tailpipe, muffler, cat converter, light bezel, dash, door panels, window seals, door weather stripping, mirrors, etc.
The front axle has been rebuilt.
Motor and tranny where kept in the rig and ran before disassembly. I bought cruiser dissassembled in boxes and just havent had time to put it together.
I'd say its 95% complete though.
It has factory power steering but no AC.

Comes with OEM style soft top, OEM powder coated soft doors, restored hard doors, frame off, zippy rust, brand spanking new everything. Also comes with the hard top. This is not restored but all the bits and pieces are there. If you want the top restored, I can do it for you for an additional fee (I'm guessing around $1000-$1200 to have it restored to the level the truck is. This could be less of course because I have not priced it out).
All of the body parts have been blasted and the tub was super clean when I started this. In other words, no suprises. Tub and body parts were is excellent condition.

We're looking for an absolutely immaculate frame-off restoration of an fj40 or bj40 here in the lower 48 states. We're very picky, but am willing to pay up to fair market value for the right truck. And yes, we understand that "fair market value" means high $.
We're looking for a 1975 or later model HARD TOP that passes or can be easily made to pass California smog. For that price we're hoping to get power steering (factory or saginaw) disc brakes (factory or aftermarket) and AC (factory or aftermarket).

Not affilited, but found this cruiser near me when searchin for parts for me, sounds like a great deal, if i had the money, i would of bought it. looks all original. Would like to know if front plate is original.

Well, I never thought this day would come, but it is time. College tuition and other reasons have caused me to put up my beloved "Landy" up for sale. I have had it since I was 16. I bought it all stock and have made all of the modifications since. The more intensive ones were installed professionally. This truck drives like a dream, and is super reliable. My goal with building the truck was to build it for mountain bike and surf trips and have the ability to carry the gear and tackle anything in its way. It cruises great on the freeway and is geared great for the trail as well. Breaks work amazing. It is a California truck, except for the last year or so, but it has never seen a salted...
Well, it is time to let it go. 230k miles. This is the wife's FJ, and it is just more than we can handle. My time and money is more involved with motorcycles. There has been quite a bit of work done to the FJ40, both by myself as well as ULC here in Atlanta....it only looks like it is held together by rust. I would like to get $4,500 out of it, considering the amount of money we have put into it.

Original F2 motor/drive train is strong and runs well. Bridgestone Dueler A/T tires are in very good condition. Warn 8,000 lb. winch has brand new 100' cable on it. The body and seat upholstery are really the significant things that needs attention. Rust in the usual places for a FJ40 that has not been restored....the rear door sill is the worst of it. A little info on the 40:
Runs and drives great, it's currently my DD. Interior is in awesome original shape. The PO cut out rust but screwed panels instead of welding them, it actually looks really good and was done with a lot of effort. It wouldnt take much to get the panels welded in, you could have it finished in a weekend or just leave it the way it is and throw some paint on her. Could use some tires.

$5500 It's way lower then i wanted to go but it's just sitting for weeks at a time without truly being used.
Selling a 1972 FJ40 that I started to fix up. It is a good running original. Stock engine 3 speed, power drum brakes, etc. It has new upholstery on the front seats, new oem exhaust system from the manifold to the tailpipe, rebuilt carb, newer starter and alternator, etc. It runs and drives and stops good for this year of rig. Speedo shows 46k and I believe it probably has 146K. It has about average rust in the rear, a couple spots on the rockers, and on the top edge of the driver fender. Front floor pans are rust free. The rear cargo area where the body mount bolts go through have some rust beginning to show. I replaced the hood, bib, and passenger side fender that were bent up in an accident. All damage was above the frame and was not...
I have received a lot of help from yall and now I really need some help. I must sell this truck immediately. I won't bore you with the details, but help me sell it please.
It ran in the summer and as far as I can tell it has water in the gas which has frozen. I thawed and cleared the carb and fuel line to the gas tank, now I need to deal with the tank. It tries real hard to start with gas in the carb, there is fire, but not enough fuel. I drove this truck for about four years and it treated me well. I need to get $1,600 for it, that is all. If I get it on the road, I will ask more, but I think it is well worth it as is, and it is too #%$& cold to work on it. Pay me now and pick it up this spring, I have the space and I promise...
