Looking for FJ40
Howdy.
I don't know much about 40s yet, but know a few things I'm looking for. Not looking for a hard core rig really but something I could drive into work (30 mi) about once a week. Fairly mechanically inclined but lack time and $$ for a restoration now. I travel to Colorado and far West Texas often so would like a rig that is very trail capable and up for the trip if I get that itch.

and whatever else...
I'm in Austin Texas and am willing to travel most anywhere for a quality rig. It'll be my first one and I want it to be solid.

Was not planning my first post to be selling my 40, but here goes:
I have owned this 1981 FJ40 for about a year. I know I've got a rare rig here and don't really want to part with it but cash is tight. I apologize for the fluff, you guys all know your stuff on TLC's, so some info goes without saying.

I'm the 2nd owner of this 3/82 cruiser. I don't really want to get rid of it so price is firm, but no place to work on it since I moved to Bozeman, MT. This vehicle would make a good restore over a build. I've been working to replace missing parts and get it back OEM. It has typical rust in quarter panels, rear lip, wheel wells and floor pans, but easily repairable with patch panels. I've rebuilt the carburetor, replaced the fuel pump, new fuel filter, changed out the fan clutch and fan, replaced the brake master cylinder, new battery, new wires, new tire rod ends, center arm rebuilt, new window regulator, new door mechanism, new mirror, new shackle bushings, tow bar, oem wheels, BFG K/O's, new shift knob, door stoppers, various...

I am selling a 1973 FJ40. This is a great restoration vehicle. I bought this with the intensions of fixing up, but I don't have the resources to do so. All that it includes: front seats, strong 1F engine, body needs work, roll bar, front doors, rear ambulance doors, transmission and transfer case in great shape, newer radiator, card rebuild kit, brand new wiring harness($300), and clear title.
I had to remove the hard top because it was beyond repair, however, the ceramic roof is in great shape. Piecing a hard top is very easy to do. I did take out all of the original glass. Also, the running boards are missing in the picture. I purchased a used set.

1. I purchased it in pieces with a few broke and missing parts- its been a great daily driver once I put it back together...
2. I have owned it for over 5 years- though only been on the road for a year and a halve - work gets in the way
3. installed Tacoma front seats, best top rear folding rear seat had a bunch of parts powdercoated... I did not take the tub off the frame

In need of a 1979 up body/tub or whole project cruiser for restoration of a stock 1979 FJ40. Tub needs to be buildable or better.
1973 Toyota FJ-40 LandCruiser for sale. This cruiser runs, drives and also looks good. I bought to drive it as is, but would truely be great candidate for a full resto. This cruiser also has the rare PTO driven winch in working condition. There are alot of other parts not pictured here that are also included with this vehicle: Matching Hardtop, Matching hard doors, full soft doors, full soft top, lift shackles, rear spare tire holder, rear side seats, bin of extras/etc.). I really do not want to sell but I really haven't messed with it in a while. I have been storing this in my father's garage for the past year or so and now Dad says wants to make room for his 1935 Hudson Hotrod that will be comming in soon.

This Cruiser has been sitting for about 3 years. It’s Mustard Yellow and is stock as a box of rocks. No hacks, no mods, no surprises. I bought it about a year ago but have 3 other project vehicles demanding my attention. Need to find someone who will put it back on the road, it’s a very easy project.
Previous owner stated that it was his wife’s and that it ran and drove excellent until she got divorced from her previous husband and maintenance stopped on the vehicle. It then ran low on oil and spun a rod while she was driving it. I have a replacement engine that comes with it.
The odometer reads right around 86k miles which I believe is accurate based on pedal and other wear items. Everything is there, hard-top, doors, roll-bar...
I just got this a few weeks ago. Sight unseen from my brother. Looking at it more in the garage I am going to pass on it. I spent 5 years building the one I have and dont have another 5 to spend on this one.
overall I would say the truck is a 3-4 out of a 10. What I know is the guy who had it worked at a 4x4 shop in NW lower Mi, he ran out of money and needed to get rid of this. Why a 75 title, I have no idea. read under odd. yes I know the bezel is upside down.
This is not the OEM Mint 40 everyone is looking for, Its a trail rig at best. or better for parts.
The BAD: there is frame rot at the driver rear spring perch, it will need to be boxed or repaired.

I listed it about 2 weeks ago and have had alot of interest but not sold. I'm guessing that the price is too high so here it goes. I paid 16K for the truck 3 weeks ago and am unable to keep it.
