Well, it is time to let it go. 230k miles. This is the wife's FJ, and it is just more than we can handle. My time and money is more involved with motorcycles. There has been quite a bit of work done to the FJ40, both by myself as well as ULC here in Atlanta....it only looks like it is held together by rust. I would like to get $4,500 out of it, considering the amount of money we have put into it.
I have pictures, but forgot to bring the camera cord to work so that I can load pictures to this ad. It comes with Haynes manual, a new Carb rebuild kit, another tire and rim and other misc parts. Right now, it needs attention to the body, leaf springs, bushings and rear main seal. I think it is ready for a new clutch, despite that I have been told that there is some life left in it. Here is a list of what has been done. I will try to load pictures tomorrow. Best to contact me at mobleydrew@yahoo.com if you have any questions. Thanks

The large brown areas is bondo hair (fiberglass) to fill in the bad rust spots. On the left side, you can see rust on the rear quarter. It is actually rusted all the way through in some of those areas (to be honest) and one of the POs filled it in. if I have the time and the warm weather, the left side would look as the right side does not. I had planned on using 80grit and finishing off with 400grit before primingm which would had made these two rear quarters look nearly flawless. Really, the entire tub should be replaced to make it beautiful. Just filling in the rusty areas and welding in a few panels would do wonders. Also in the pics, you will notice some areas painted with red oxide paint. This was done after some attention was paid to surface rust in 05, soon after purchase.
Ask me any questions, I will be honest. I am not a FJ40 knowledge base, so my information about these vehicles is very limited.
