Howdy, I’m new here. Bought a fj40 and I’m looking to fix her up.

If your going to run a walker y pipe you need to run a heat riser spacer on the passenger side. It appears there are several sources for them. I also included some pic of my exhaust. Ramshorns came in 2" and 2 1/2" versions. The larger versions were on early vettes and I dont think they used the spacer, or y pipe.

So I ordered a walker y pipe 42087 from Jegs said it had it but I just tracked my order and it says the y pipe is back ordered.. everywhere else on google says it’s sold out. Seems like a pretty common part to not be available, so if anyone knows where to get one let me know

So I ordered a 42087 y pipe from jegs, it said it was in stock but apparently it’s back ordered, not sure how long that will take but I plan to call in the morning tomorrow. When I google 42087 y pipe everywhere else is sold out. Not even eBay. Let me know if you know of anywhere else

Those are collectors that bolt to 3" headers outlet. They probably won't work.

I think you need to find flanges like SMG in post 11 or @pbgbottle used. Either with a bubble or with donut gaskets like in the thread below.

Has anyone ever tried this Walker crossover pipe (PN# 40261)? It looks as if it would hug the left side frame rail better than the more popular Walker crossover pipe (PN# 42087).

Trying to figure out which one would work better on my SBC conversion.

Got the side panels mocked up, cleans up the rear quarters a bit, covers the holes they drilled for the round trailer lights. I’m looking for some stock taillights for my bumper I’m going to build. Is there any reason to spend 100-200$ for tail lights? I don’t need the oem connector plug, that was cut off when they put the trailer lights in the back. There’s some on eBay for 38$ with a full rubber gasket that other stock/oem ones don’t have:

I saw @SandiaFJ40 makes/made some LED lights for the fj but I don’t know where to order them. I’m willing to spend a bit more on lights if it actually matters for functionality/performance. But I don’t care if it IS original, I just want it to look like its original for the most part..

And finally no progress on the exhaust.. hopefully I’ll be starting that soon.
