Little rejuvenating of the emblem.. couple teeny spots where the white went on the black. Dry 30 mins then can add clear coat from the paint pen.

Heck yeah! It's little touches like that that make a big difference sometimes. It's just going to be that much more badass when you pull up on some fart sniffing electric car driving wanker. That re-worked Toyota badge ought to just about take up all the space in a Tesla's rearview mirror.

The ground clove will add a nice tint to that white lettering.

When’s first start?
My to do list... plus toss on J pipe keep forgetting that one... but today thru Sat I think are going to be near 60’s. Would LOVE to fire it up while kid is here... comes w/ pros and cons course but he’s expressed he’d like to see it. So that would mean as soon as tomorrow. My gut is kinda doing flip flops.

Ah and can’t forget that bitchy front passenger window glass...

Seeing your list makes me grateful to have a seventeen year old son who wants to learn. It's like free labor, comroderie, and makes me feel smart when I can help him fix my truck. Also, he don't drink my beer.

I just finished my animal stuff, he did 4.5 sheets of paperwork (writing and math) and has been immersed in his iPad already for 30 mins... I guess im
dragging my feet. Temps now up to 54. I said to him “it’s going to be nice today, it’s up to 54, I should get you and dogs out for a walk but I really want to go finish up truck stuff...” he says “so go do it!” Oh the friggen mom guilt is strong. Tomorrow it’s going to be near 60....

It will be messy, but you could use some help getting those fluids in. Let him use the proper tools, get greasy, etc. We all gotta start somewhere. My son has a list of people who pay him to do oil changes for the last 4 years. I still double check his work, but I trust him. I started him at 6 doing his own bike. By the time he was 8, his friends where having him fix theirs.

Well shame on me... I’m not quite sure I have the patience level you have.

Maybe I’ll try tmrw.... still need to add gear oil to trans and tcase, rear diff oil, a bit more coolant and power steering flui

Forgot I had to tap the tcase fill hole better for the 1/2” plug I bought (recall I had to tap it way back when for the bipass hose)... guess I did a s***ty job cuz the plug I bought wouldn’t feed in deep enough. Had some hand holding, thanks Casey, @POTATO LAUNCHER and got it done. Plug is now in.
Air cleaner on, evap lines hooked up per memory... maybe I should double check those. :)

Added battery and have lights. Driver rear blinker out and front fast blink. My truck has been notorious for that so it’s prob the connection at the rear quarter as opposed to the bulb.

Grill and emblem tmrw.

My wheel was locked too initially... I used some dry lube into the cylinder cuz I was afraid it was stuck from sitting. Realized just locked. Once the brake light lit up it was hard to not start priming that carb!

I want to fire it up tomorrow and drive him to the library for the drop off to his dad for 4:20ish.... time will tell.

I told him as we finished dinner I’d have him under the truck pumping the tcase fluids in... I might go the extra step to warm the fluid in a bucket of hot water. Kid even asked how thick it is... “like maple syrup?” Just about maybe a smidge more like molasses, not quite. And think I’ll take Casey’s advice and pull the shifter and fill the transmission from the top since I haven’t put the boots on yet.

Maybe a bit overzealous... thought about driving him while showering... another not typical female preoccupation... realizing I may need to adjust timing, adjust valves again, tweak carb... oy.

Awesome! It is 90% anticipation... It will fire then you tune. If not try again. You won't give up but the struggle is real. It will all be worth it.

Pumping sucks. Gravity fill is where it’s at.
