This will be my next suspension set-up too. Currently Lovells springs, and Koni shocks. This combination is great for towing and when my 190L diesel tank is full, but harsh when lightly loaded. I will keep the Koni shocks but am so keen on the...

Owners who want their dash button and glove box shift instructions to be stay original 🤷 It’s a perfectly reliable system if actually maintained, aka used more then once a decade.

Changed the oil, washed it, packed and hit the road for a 2000 mile road trip. Action pics to come. 😉

Drill 3x new holes 5mm out from the originals on the steel clamp.. (will be obvious when you go to fit it up). Since I have the 3/4 windows I also had to cut the bracket (easy with tinsnips…)

I forgot to add - a nice surprise was included in my order - an insulated travel cup (as shown above). Am pretty happy with that!

Yesterday I received and fitted my One-Stone arm rests. Took about 10 minutes to modify (they are for 70 series cruisers), but fit perfectly!

You have a misalignment issue or a bent pulley most likely. Could be the AC compressor is not mounted right, lost a bolt, etc.

Thanks for all the input guys. Seeing as how its only two. I was wondering if I could fit them in in the blank spot used by Paco! Looks like I can fit them in right there. Awesome input everyone big thanks. I pulled the dash, the Japanese head...

Gday all, This is the second time my air cond belt has twisted on itself… the first time was over 2500km ago - after driving on horribly corrugated roads. Today I noticed it has done the same thing again…. I am unsure why this would happen as...

In my hj61 I have one Redarc gauge that includes boost, egt and coolant temp. This is screwed to the A pillar, housed in the Redarc ‘cup’. This is pretty simple but works…

Hi all, I have a 1988 HJ 61 manual, and came across this document a while back…. On the document it shows Tare weight, Aggregate weight, and the GVM on the compliance plate. I am wondering what the Aggregate weight is as it is more than the...

Just copied my friend's Velocirax. I wanted one that carried just two bikes and our B.O.B. trailer and was offset to the US passenger's side of the Troopy back doors. I added a 2-inch receiver hitch to a swingout off my rear bumper. Used scrap...

FTE this is arse about - on average, over the long term, the FTE is more reliable. The computers are incredibly reliable - over the life time of the average vehicle they will be 100% fault free (yes there are anomalies). The pump lasts a lot...

It all depends on what you value more, power, simplicity, reliability, self-maintenance, etc. Sure, the FTE is the more efficient powerful engine. No question. Doesn't mean it'd be my pick when fording a river, crossing the simpson desert, or...

4 1/2 year update! The compressor is still running as good as the day i installed it… the car has driven plenty of k’s through dust, mud and water and the compressor just keeps on working…. I should take it out to have a look at it one day!

I always find this train of thought a bit strange. Computers in cars pre 1990 maybe a bit unreliable. But how often are you having computer breakdowns in your 1hdt fte?? These engines arnt new, they have proven themselves over a long period of...

Boosted Diesel Services in Western Australia has done them… (on Facebook). I wouldn’t have a clue of injector pressures In my opinion (and experience), a computer affects reliability… the 1HD-fte has, as you have said 20+ years of proven...

In Australia there are a few (lot??) of electronic fte to mechanical conversions… I am unsure if the workshops carrying out these conversions would do so if the benefits weren’t worth it… (I don’t have one) I have owned a 2h, 1hz (with and...

Not exactly the weekend, but over the past 5 days I have driven the 60 about 2000km - mostly towing my 5m boat. Got about 16 L/100km sitting on about 105km/hr. Got to do a few good 4WD tracks and dirt roads too. Also got a bit stuck on a beach…
