Agree but looks like he's been off mud since about the time most places were getting locked down. Hope everything is OK.

Hey sorry guys I’m still alive - been dealing with life just like everyone else. Sadly no progress on the AC project from hell lol. I did improve my cruiser’s home however... :)

Got some grommets of course do not fit exactly - but they're close enough and will do what they're supposed to do - protect the wires from the sharp metal! Here is my tentative grommet/hose mockup - I haven't glued it but I think it will work just fine. Plus more blingy red hose on my cruiser. In reality the only hose remnant I had that fit... ;)

@ginmtb was there a grommet originally on the FJ40 on the windshield frame side please?

not an individual grommet but this one piece length of hose with grommet built into it. No longer available unless @Racer65 is making them. I’ve been a bit disconnected from the cruiser world...

Have you gotten your AC working? i've followed you thread when you first started it and have been curious on how it turned out. My engine compartment is basically identical to yours and know i would end up running into a lot of the similar issued you've encountered. Perhaps this will be the year I take a swing at this project.

Thanks for your time

Umm, I'm embarrassed to admit I haven't gotten it done. Been busy with so many other things right now that the cruiser sadly has moved to very low priority... :(

Mike, good to see all is good. I too have been very busy with other things that I sadly haven’t even looked at my 40 in many months.
but now that you are back on here get that damn A/C done! 😆

So I went to a local car show and was one of very few classics at it - mostly it was a show of who had the most money. I think the organizers might have been a little perturbed I was getting so much traffic. In none of their social media postings did you see my cruiser. Not even in the background. Thankfully someone knows cars and captured my cruiser for her Instagram page. :)

Good to hear from you man.

What is on the front of your 40?!

Might have done a little testing for @Racer65;). Amazing to think a very reputable mfg produced a bra for our 40’s! Available on racer65’s store btw.

Is this truly possible?

Last annual oil change: 4/22/2018 - 40,358

Current odometer: 41,041

So around 700 miles in just under 2.5 years?!!! I just did way more than that on a 5-day road trip in the new car up the coast and into the giant redwoods. :frown:

Should I change out the oil due to age vs. mileage?
