Wondering if anyone has any info for 1972 fj40 wheels. The wagon wheels on it are pretty rough. They are from 79 and are 15x7. The only thing I'm finding are trailer rims with the correct backpacking and they are only 6 inches wide. I looked for the ones from summit mentioned on old threads but the company is no longer making them.

I bought steel wheels for my ‘72 from my local Toyota dealer a couple of years ago. Cheap, fast and no freight charge!

your original rims would have been riveted as opposed to welded that you can still buy today.

you can find originals here and there or buy the newer welded ones ... if your planning on going to discs on the front you will need the welded ones anyway.

15¨ is the original size

you can get 16¨ frfom city racer

there are several threads in the wheel section about replacement rims that have the steelie look but you can buy wider

Exactly. I bought the welded wheels because I was going to front discs.

Hey thanks for all the input. I'm going to sandblast and paint the wheels and see if the bead seals ok. If not I'll go buy some stockers. I am just using the search tab and putting in wheels. Is there a more specific way to search? Thanks again for the help.

I went with this company because they sell rims with the correct specs or Toyota Land Cruises.

Hey Jim that's exactly what I'm looking for. I was looking at jegs, summit, cruiser corps and so on. All of them were 3.75 on the backspacing. I also saw tpi has wheels just like the ones from cruiser solutions but they don't list any specs. Not on a million years did I think it would be so hard to find new steel wheels.

I might know where some wheels are at up your way.

I'm down in Stevi. There's a few of us local that, maybe another set of rims near you that I know about.

Here is a good resource semi locally.

I know of a set of 4 somewhat local, they are 72 correct, so they are riveted. if going with disc eventually get welded ones now versus later.
pics of your current rims, my guess is they aren't actually stock Toyota but I could be wrong.
where in Florence are you?
wife's son and family are there

In the past and in the near future I'll be running 15x8's rims and run 1/4" spacers on the frt to clear the tre like in my avatar. Eventually I'll probably be running 35 x 12.50 wide tires on 15x8 rims. When i bought my 40 it had 15x10 aluminum wheels with the same type spacers. At the time I used longer studs too. Imo, 10" wheels are too wide.
