Slow going in the barn with little to zero activity. Fetcher did get recommissioned the other day. Bought this very nice 62 from a very good friends wife. This was originally slated for a LS conversion but they are going in a different direction. They still have a brand new automatic trans, adapter plate, motor and all this bits for sale if you’re looking to do an LS conversion. If so hit up @LETSROLLEM
The motor is set up for fuel injection, has the wiring harness etc. the hard part collecting everything has been done.
This is a beautiful tub and the plans are to swap it into my euro 61 since the bodies are identical as well as the original color (white). My 61 is complete but the body is rusted beyond what anyone below the sunbelt would generally tackle.

@CenTXFJ60 thanks for “Fetcher”ing it Jimbo! Glad it’s going to you my friend. And to echo what you said if anyone is interested I have a completely rebuilt LT1 converted to fuel inj with a Torqhead kit and the brand new 4l60e trans and AA adapter ready to swap in someone’s rig. Anyone interested please hit me up I’m ready to move those items. Thanks again Jimmy

Is the LT1 motor the one with the ignition down around the harmonic balancer ?

That’s a great question Richard and one that Daniel @LETSROLLEM can chime in on. These LS motors are way outside my wheelhouse. Hence the reason I didn’t jump on buying that and the Transmission from Daniel. I did lay eyes on it and it is shining and pretty :).

There are several GM LT1 engines.

The LT1 engine you’re thinking about is a “Gen 2” and was made from 1992-1997 and had the “weird” Optispark ignition that was on the front of the engine.

He mentioned his was coverted to fuel injection so it may be an old LT1 from the 70s which was high performance and carbureted. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'd rather get him hooked on something wholesome like 1HD-FTE's.

Ours is from a ‘93 Impala, but everything from the block up and internals have been replaced (push rods, rocker arms, valves, valve springs and retainers) and we have duplicates of a lot of the engines accessories. Also 3 FSM’s pertaining to this motor

Doing a first in the Barn. Installing an aftermarket AC into a HJ61 that came from the factory without AC. I told the owner that if it was factory air, not a problem as I know where just about every nut, bolt, parts and wires go. But to install someone else’s creation (similar to vintage air) all I could do is give it my best shot. I can tell you this is an interesting truck. Been on 4 or 7 continents (@HemiAlex ) knows the trucks history. First order is to remove the secondary alternator that drives an alternate battery that I don’t even know where it’s located. This truck has about any overlanding “add on” that you can think of. And I am clear when I say I’m not going to touch the electrical work of 5+ previous owners :). It’s worse than a “rats nest.” I just need to make sure it runs and the factory gauges still work when I’m done. I can’t open the rear hatch due to a custom swing out that’s a bit funky. I saw the owner open it a few months ago when he dropped it off. Pickled with it for a bit but do not want to screw it up. Good news is I don’t foresee a reason for me to be back there. Looking forward to learning a few new things. The ac kit came from Cruiserworld. I’ve bought locked axles and a few things from this owner. Good guy and very good stuff he sells, but when you see the directions (pictures and two diagrams) with no steps articulated, I realized I’m on my own here. And the owner is half way around the globe. I try to avoid black hole jobs so we will see if this turns out to be the case.

Pics of removing the alternator since this is where the new compressor goes.

If ya need AC OEM engine bay brackets for this owner, I have a spare set. Not cheap. Hens teeth as we know.
