Installed a new Teq Badge from member bhicks (Brad Hicks).

Backing plate is milled to fit in the mesh and uses 3 strips of double sided tape to hold the badge.

Installed.

Pulled the motor Saturday and hopefully I'll get the fame sand blasted this week. Is it safe to leave the brake lines attached or should I pull them off first?

Cheating a little, actually the last two weeks -

Took the top off, to find that some idiot in the last 15 years (I've owned it for 17) used a high-strength adhesive caulk to seal the hard top leak points. Took a hilift jack to separate things to get to the rust that the sealant did not eliminate...

Changed the front differential oil to find it was a beautiful pearlescent tan, presumably from the moly grease in the knuckles.

Adjusted the valves, found a bent pushrod, bought and installed another, adjusted valves again.

Cold and hot compression check.

New plugs, air filter, timing, etc.

Sanding, painting, rust treating, painting. And painting.

Relieved the underside of my extended tire carrier mount from Metrictlc with a grinder to clear the inside lip of my wheels.

Replaced the window channels and weather strips - no rattles.

Finally adjusted the parking brake so that it rubs slightly when released, and I have a working brake again. I'm thinking the new (aftermarket) pads were just not arched correctly and needed to have the high spots ground down by driving. At first one click in gave me "lock," one out gave me nothing at all. After a bit of attempted use I could go one click in and could barely push the truck with it "off." Went with the one click in / dragging and nothing has overheated or caught fire in two days of driving so I think I'm good.

Good job, better remove those brake lines if they are good. It can get pricey replacing them, and they will likely get messed up.

Cart before the horse, but I finally picked my cruiser colors. Gotta have motivation right? Going with the 6H9 Greyish Olive and T12 Cygnus White. I've been working on stripping down the hood. Hammer and dollying out the bad spots. Next steps are to epoxy prime, scuff, body filler, prime again and paint. The plan is to do the entire 40 a little at a time and make a small paint booth out of the garage.

Replaced the quarter panels






I bought 12 gauge instead of 1/8". that .020 is going to make all the difference between bending it smoothly or not
1/8" = .125 and 12 gauge = .104 or so






Predrilled all the holes for the spot welds hung it back up


Then took a couple of straps and this piece of 3x3 tubing to form the bend

Installed a new OEM radiator from beno and a trollhole carb and went on a 200 mile road trip to test them out. All systems go! Thanks guys.
