That actually brings up a quick/good question. The garage that put these on filled 'em up to 32. What do folks typically run these at? Thanks in advance...

when I had 33x10.5 BFG MTs, I ran 32-35 psi on the highway

Yay.. finally finished my rear brake swap. What was going to be a weekend project turned into a month, but at least my cruiser is happy again. They work awesome. I can't quite get the front brakes to lock up first... I can't get them to lock up at all actually. I've got the portotioning valve dialed down to like 1/8 of a turn.. but the rear still seem to be working better. I almost have to wonder if my front calipers are just old and not working 100%. Either way, I'm very happy. The pedal is hard right at the top, it's stops hard and straight. I am totally excited to drive it to work tomorrow.

And... hopefully going wheeling this weekend! Yay!

I presume you have the proportioning valve in the rear circuit ?

Got the engine back in and discovered the infamous oil galley plug leaking like a lawn sprinkler. Methinks now I know why the bearing fried. Using the wisdom I found here I was able to tap it and plug it and I am back on the road. :)

Installed a carb fan.....Let's just hope I don't need the (always empty) window washer bottle. I'll just keep an extra bottle of water and rag on board just incase I need to clean the window.

Note: At this time, the carb fan is run off temperature only. I plan to rewire with the relay for temp & time.

Thanks for the help & photos, Raddic.

Hey GA, what is that you used for a temp sensor?

Hey GA, what is that you used for a temp sensor?

The sensor is a Spal 195-TS, 195 degree Stainless Steel Thermostat. The bracket is a modified Simpson Strong-Tie TP15 Tie Plate.

I have the carb cooling fan relay (85927-60040) and I know the wiring, I just don't have the plug. Trying to figure out how to make the connections to the relay, the dang prongs are so close together.

Anyone know of where to turn for help finding the plug for the 85927-60040, Carb Cooling Fan Relay?

Have you checked coolerman's website or even try PMing him? I'd like to get my fan working as well. I have the components and should have looked for that fuse when I had everything out for my engine install but didn't think of it until now :bang:

Starting the engine swap 350 to nv4500 Advanced Adapter to 73 t-case. Getting good help from my Friend Josh at work.

Yes, I do. Dialed all the way "off" and then a 1/4 turn back is all it's at however, and the rear still want to skid a tiny bit. They don't lock up during normal hard braking, I have to stop fast and hard on it to TRY to get them to lock up. I drove up and down the road testing, and panic stopping to check and see how things work, no issues under any kind of braking you'd ever do driving. I'm very happy with how well it works. It's also nice that the cruiser stops going backwards too!

it's easiest (and safer) to do the lock-up test for dialing in the proportioning valve on gravel or dirt

Hi all,

Replaced some worn front shackle bushings, and installed a replacement speedometer cable (the original one broke 2 weeks ago.)

Was cruisin down the street in my 40 at about 50mph. Just put on 2" spacers with the 35's until I swap in fj60 axles. Anyway their is this one light that turns red fast and has the stupid cameras. It caught me off guard-so to avoid a 75 dollar ticket it was time to see how the ol rear drum brakes worked.(I have discs up front) The 35's howled a great deal and caught everyone's attention. Man the spacers just make it feel soooo stable, more so than my stock 3rd gen 4runner. Highly recommended to do spacers. Although I kinda wish I only did 1.5", 2" is a lot.

only $75 ? where do you live ?
