I drove it for the first time since I tore it down (maybe the 4th time I've driven it overall). Still needs the windshield which I should have back tomorrow and mirrors.

I started installing the Cool Cruisers A/C system. Started with installing the compressor. Had to move the alternator and also modify the factory bracket a little. Required some welding and grinding, but all seems lined up. Took all day just to get this part done. But some time was spent cleaning and painting the battery box and other various items. I want to put things back better than what I took apart. I'll post some pics tomorrow.
I did this...that was after I massaged it back a little with a BFH. The hood was bent pretty bad too, I climbed up and jumped up and down on it a few times and got it mostly back to where it should be.

I re-registered it as an antique for 2 more years. Laughed at the mileage. In the 2 years I have owned it, I have driven it exactly 520 miles.
Also realized that the registration on my daily driver expired 8 months ago

I broke this and bought a new one at Mr. Toyota... any guesses as to what it is?

Went and found some door rubber from a wrecked vehicle and put it onto the door on my BJ42 as a temporary measure until I can get my rebuild going and I am telling you it has made all the difference. I can now hold a conversation in the vehicle without the doors rattling off.
I have this same front bumper, got mine from SOR 16 years ago...with rear bumper and nerf bars to match...
I just wrote the check for a new aqualu tub. Excited and nervous. Convinced its the right decision for my cruiser. Going to solve many problems at once and get me closer to back on the road.
We were planning on going to the Rubicon this weekend.. but yesterday the ticking timebomb that is Land Cruiser drum brakes finally popped. My rear brakes finally went.. I have had the front mini truck disks for 7 years.. but never got around to the rear. So.. yeah.. instead of Rubicon this weekend I'm going to finally get around to doing the rears. I was hoping the rotors would fit on my lathe.. missed by 1/4. So tomorrow I'll take them to Napa and have the centers turned. Then I hope it all goes smoothly because my wife's car's head gasket blew tonight so we're down a car, the cruiser is going to become my DD again for a few months until we can afford to buy another car. This has not been a good week for our cars!

but she is running after being left for dead! Now she is a rolling restoration and will be driven this summer before attacking body stuff this winter...
May not be pretty but it is a cruiser and gives you something to work with. What are you going to do with her.

This summer I will be doing all the little stuff making sure everything is in good working/driving shape. I bought a welder and I am going to fix sill and lower rear quarters this winter. Seats will be taken apart, painted, re-upholstered in black (although the blue is growing on me
) etc.
The board has been amazing. From identifying a worn vaccuum transfer case shifter fork to my ignition wiring being off by 1 year. Couldn't have done it without y'all.

some late night wrenching last night to install new clutch master and slave. Took less than 1 hour to drain, swap out, fill and bleed. 10mm line wrench makes a huge difference (over open wrench) in helping to get hydraulic lines off easily
