After a month of yanking my hair out and testing and retesting everthing under the hood, I yanked out a faulty Crane Fireball elec. ignition and put the old points and condensor back in. Wow! i can actually drive it over a mile without it dieing. As crazy as this sounds, I may just continue to run points, they're cheap and easy to replace, and you can actually tell when they go bad.:cheers:
 
Rebuilding my heater, finally. The main heater core was pretty dirty. Mostly mouse hair I think.

Finally got that all hooked up. Took forever to find a small part for the heater box, then I had to get a new valve because my original leaked.

WOW, the heat is amazing now! I've got effective defrost for the first time since I've owned the truck.

Heater rebuild is highly recommended! :D

Put the motor in my '63, put the body in etching primer, did final filler, and then shot red oxide primer.
 
Installed my AA twin stick last night, was one of the easiest things i have done on my cruiser. working on my barn doors today and starting my half doors.
 
Had a nice puddle of fluid on my d/s floor board and slider, clutch master cylinder is nice and empty, took old one out ordered up a new one it will be here on mon
 
started on the rear fenders

Started to make the upper part of my rear fender in combination with top of the wheel well. This way I wont have the dubbel plate in the wheel well.

Finally got a skid built like I want it. Thanks to BSevans for inspiration. Still have to clean up and POR15.

Absolutely easist thing

Taking a break from bleeding the clutch and brakes lines, I looked around for something that looked like it could be easy to do and also make me feel like i got something done today, visually speaking. One more part off the floor and onto the truck kind of thing.

I installed a new dash on my 77 FJ40. Total time spent was about nine minutes flat! Not kidding. The OEM was already off, but removal of that would have been about 90 seconds anyway, had it still been on. Drilled out the spot welds with the supplied weld cutter, installed three screws and Bingo! Got a new dash and a lot more storage space

It needs two things, in my opinion, to make it a perfect TEN; a good padded upholstery job which will be done in my shop next week, and a back up of VHB tape between the dash box and dash panel to add backup to the screws. The upholstery will also hide the lock located on the top lid.

After reading so many posts here I rebuilt my odometer, installed leds in my dash, replaced my speedo cable, adjusted my valves (while running), timed and adjusted the dwell. SWEEET!
Oh, and reinstalled my conferr console. Need a new pad for the lid.
And mounted my hi-lift on the running board.

I recently installed a cs130 alternator in my '74 fj40. All i had to do was extend the top bracket for the alt and put the fan and pulley from my old alt on it so that it would work and cool. It helped out a lot since I have a viair air system and a few warn lights on the front. now i do not have to worry about the alt not charging enough to compensate for the lights resulting in it not starting whenever I stop somewhere at night. haha.

I also recently installed my new thirdmember that i got from justdifferentials.com that came with an arb air locker for the front (since I somehow broke my last locker in the front) to match the same part that i had ordered for the rear a few months ago.
 
Modified the crappy front bumper I still have from the PO to hold a hi-lift with $13 worth of stainless bolts.

Pulled the craptastic 13" steering wheel the PO installed and replaced with a stock steering wheel. The extra 4" diameter is almost a 25% reduction in the force needed to turn the wheels. It's damn near power steering. Also makes me feel like I'm driving a bus.

Installed the CCOT aftermarket mirror arms and mirrors. I still need to tighten down the driver side one as it tends to blow in the breeze.

Worked on my new speakers and mounts. I'll have a thread on those once I build up the second one so everyone can see a finished one next to the individual steps.
 
Installed the brake biaser for the read discs from Summit. Installed the clutch master cylinder (older style brake mc), installed the slave cylinder, and made a little progress on the wiring.

Visited mine in prison (no, not a conjugal visit). I'm in the process of building a garage so I put my '67 in a friends hangar at the airport. One of the hydraulic rams broke so it'll be 'looking at stripe-ed moonlight' for awhile. Absense makes the heart grow fonder; but it don't fix drum brakes.
