Just rolled over 192,000 miles. So easy to keep this Land Cruiser running here in Colombia. Almost every part of this country that we've visited has spare parts readily available and mechanics that will fix most issues while you wait. The Labor is very inexpensive and great. Going to miss Colombia.
This worked out great! Good job. ThanksResealed my darn timing cover gasket...looking like it took this time though.
Also bit the bullet and fixed the odometer...my original grease was definitely gumming up the 10s digit. I had the variant with the brass bushings, so I just left it assembled and cleaned it with DeOxit. Basically contact cleaner to clear the old grease, and leaves a light lubricant behind. Not as bad a job as I expected. Since I was in there, I reset to miles-since-the-frameoff, we'll see if I can get to 00000 again.

My front end fit-up is not great either. It drives me crazy as a past body shop guy. I had to nylon spacer the bolt up between my fenders and the running boards. Can you post more pics? I just did this on mine and used NOS fenders. It took some adjustments and moving of the factory holes. More pics would be helpful
It's been a busy week for my 97 LX450.
This is my wheeling cruiser, and it's been through a lot.
All I wanted to do was replace the speakers so I could have some tunes again. It's been about five years since the system deteriorated beyond use, and I switched to using noise-canceling IEMs while driving
Of course, this snowballed into a multi-week project.
After disassembling all four doors, I decided to address other issues and install some enhancements.
- I replaced all four window regulators. The driver's door would go down, but needed a lot of help coming back up. The driver's rear passenger window just stopped working. I found aftermarket replacements on Ebay, shipped from Japan. So glad I got this fixed!
- Applied noise-damping material to all four doors. I stuck it to the inside of the outer skin (inside the doors) and the interior panels where the speakers mount.
- Applied new OEM moisture barriers that I got from @Delta VS
- Installed Audison AP-4 to the rear doors and Audison AP-5 to the front doors. The Audison AP-1 tweeters were mounted to the plastic mouldings that cover the side mirror mounting bolts. I chose Audison because they fit behind the stock factory speaker grills. I want everything to be under cover. At this time, the Alpine head unit is powering these speakers, but I will move to an external amp system later on.
- Since the doors were apart, I decided to mount some ditch lights. I got a pair of the YodaTeq DLMM and added the Baja Designs S1 LED lights. I was able to run the wire through the doors and into the cabin and now they need to go through the firewall to the power-source. I already have a stock dash switch connected to a previously installed harness, so it's a matter of making the connection.
- I've gone through 2 stock 80 amp alternators since I've owned this truck, and decided to do the 2006 Sequoia 150A upgrade using the Delta VS kit. I installed the bracket and the charge-cable upgrade.
- My steering wheel was falling apart and the holes in the leather was annoying. I came across a newly wrapped steering wheel and swapped that in.
So now I have a great steering wheel feel in my hands, tunes in my ears, a quieter ride, and enough power for the fridge and auxiliary lights.
Heading to Death Valley today!

I've also recently seen 88k, however I had also seen it 8 or 9 years ago.Installed new turn signals on the ‘64.
Also rolled over 88k…or 188k….or 288k…or 388k….488k….1,088,000…who knows. I really think it is 88k given the condition of everything.

So I'm having an issue with getting my 2f running smooth. Carb is idling a little high to keep it running, choke is off, timing BB is behind the left side of inspection window, distributor is almost turned fully to the right. I did turn the idle mix 3.5 out based on others info ... Not sure if that's right. Exhaust is not smooth and seems to sputter. Any ideas? Trying to load a video of the exhaust
Have not checked the vacuum yet. Just purchased a testerCheck the cut off solenoid on the carb. The engine fuse needs to be 15 amp. Also check that the hot wire to the distributor is tight. Make sure the points(if you have them) are adjusted for gap. Those things as well as 3 1/2 turns out on the mixture solved my idle problem. Have you checked the vacuum?
