I like original flavor.I have been slowly putting a 2f back together for my 1964 fj40 I call the salt wagon. A name given by the previous owners that I kept. the salt wagon has an sbc swap and a 3speed. I wanted to go back full Toyota so the 2f inline 6 was a must have. Its starting to look good! tore it down all the way and cleaned/repaired and started putting it back together with new gaskets vale seals and all the goodies you need. Some things here are not bolted up all the way yet like the intake and carb and the fan. The carb thats on it needs new throttle plates so its a parts carb now. All I need now is my carburetor to rebuild that is coming from Oregon. and an exhaust header coming from Tennessee. then a few little things like vacuum lines and some heater lines. Its come a long way!

I’d replace the oil pan gasket and rear main seal while you’re in that deep. It can be done by removing the rear main bearing and retorquing after installation of the new seal.Took a break from degreasing my transmission/tcase and moved into the garage to do some work. Drained the engine oil, removed the clutch and bell housing. The flywheel is concerning, so is the motor mount bolt I removed. How does the rear of my engine look? Anything concerning?

I read somewhere that someone recommended using high temperature copper sealant on the mating surface of the bearing cap where it contacts the block. I plan on doing just that. I have the gasket already but I'm worried I may need to replace the pan. It's leaking quite a bit and has a pretty big dent in it. I don't know if it's sealing all the way or if there's something else going on.
