First Drive after body mounts were replaced. If you have not done this upgrade, I would highly recommend it. Truck seems less harsh but still rides like a tractor. :)

Down to just the ambulance door header panel in getting the fiberglass top off. Getting pretty close to the f### it point with these painted screws - impact driver ain’t moving them and I’m getting close to plan C (the blue box in the second photo). Implement plan C and replace them with stainless? I’m trying to keep this original as practical, but stainless hardware seems like a meaningful upgrade when I put this top back together.

You don’t need to unscrew those to release the fiberglass roof. The roof bolts that attach to the header screw in from the top.

Fought all weekend trying to get my dissy loose. I found a puller someone on here made before. I will finish it and try it tomorrow. I've tried heat, kroil, acetone and atf. PO also rounded the hold-down bolt head on the clamp. I did get that out after a bunch of heating. I just need to turn the dissy a little to get it to idle better.

Thanks! Was taking the whole thing apart any way, but now I see what you mean. Only a few bolts broken along the way that I’ll need to drill and tap. All new weatherstripping is gonna happen and going to get the top fiberglass painted. I might push this project out a ways, as having the top off is gonna be fun for the summer (and the truck has a lot less squeaks!).

Went looking for some firewood, more of a scouting trip to see where the snow level is currently.

I’m ‘bass ackwards’ by putting top back on (after 5 years) with summer around the corner but I got brand new seals for Christmas and repainted the cap so……
While @rkymtnflyfisher is checking snow levels, I’m checking lake levels and getting the girl water ready for paddle boards in a few weeks

A first person video of your drive would be therapeutic for those of us that live in non beautiful cities. I enjoy the photos you post, looks like an amazing place to be.
It's not as fun and exciting as one would think, it is a pretty harsh environment, and life to live. Not to mention the tourists and Covid refugees.

Don’t you guys just drink bourbon with the governor and hunt out of helicopters? I’ve seen that documentary about Montana that plays on Paramount…..

I can't wait for that show to be over.

Even headed into winter the cab of my 45 is unbearably hot in the day.
So I pulled all the interior and set to work on my carpet and insulation.

It's 2 layers of alububble, then 1 layer of heavy rubber under felt and then a heavy duty polyester industrial carpet.

Hardest part was getting the template made. Once I had that done rest went pretty smoothly.

Massive difference driving it to work today. Heat ingress is right down, to modern car levels and even sound is right down. I have to stand on the loud pedal to remember I have a v8!
