Tried to remember how the parking brake goes back together

Added back seats to “Dusty”. Original plan was to install a set of Mitsubishi Montero 3rd row folding jump seats. Didn’t have much luck finding them at a decent price. Instead I found a set of 3rd row Mitsubishi Outlander folding seats at the local “you pull parts” out of a wrecked 19. I bolted them in and now I have a set of seats that are out of the way until it’s time for an “ice cream” run. I will eventually fab up a bracket to fold them up out of the way. Of course it will be when I get bored and have nothing better to do.
I still need to install the 3pt seat belts, hopefully over the next two weeks and this will be checked off of the list.

What are those goofy head rests? That's how they are out of the Mitsubishi?

Put some new tires on the 71 fj40 37x14.5x15 Toyo Open Country mt on 15x10 wheels. Also i am looking for a matching spare so if anyone knows who made these wheels let me know.

Rewiring my 40. Spent about 8 hours on the rear tail lights. Here's a shot of dad's old harness, and my new one.

I ran out of TLX wire so I have some NAPA spools. The tail lights are a ton of wire. Was going to cheap out with flex mesh wire looms, but had enough Raychem DR-25 and SCM so everything is super sealed and protected.

Was cleaning up my lights and decided to buy some new housing...which 40 had oval lights!?!? Turns out dad plasma'ed ovals and install truck-lite group 60s. I was pretty upset until I found NAPA stocked the lights, marker lights, grommets and connectors for about 70 for everything.

Added a rear facing camera, hot lead for the backup light and license light. Typing this, realize I didn't run ground wires. Hope the 4plus bumper will carry the ground. Also ran 14 gauge speaker wire for a set of JLaudio 6.5 combos. Overall, a long day, but I'm happy with the results and super impressed with the Raychem products.

I wrapped up another batch of knobs over the last week

note the NON-USA knobs have a more tan or beige tone to them

also , i have hit the advance search hard and concluded that The Saudi Spec. Region indeed used a Yellow HAZARD SWITCH KNOB at this era of design in some if its local markets ....

i want the tech on this subject bad ... :D

After three months, I got the front seat back from the upholstery shop. They still have my rear seat and my door panels to do, but at least I have this. I promptly installed the seat, threw two of my mountain bikes in the back and and took her camping. My wife was already out with the trailer, so I didn't have to tow.

Turns out my 2 year-old Grand daughter like Papa's truck too.

That is the first ‘squatted’ 40 I’ve seen.

@Pura Vida you missed your opportunity…
It's got a little squat and more strapped down. I'll be putting a better suspension under it soon. Probably a little bigger tire. Maybe 35s if I can squeeze em.

Nice!

You probably already know; those front shackles are upside down.

Put in H4 LEDs from superbrightleds.com in Hella 7" glass. Fanless with internal drivers. Really happy with how this came out. I had modified the buckets before (opened the hole) and wired the H4 female plug off the terminal strips

According to the specs these draw 2.5Amps and put out 4000 lumens. I believe it because that is about the same spec as another set of fan cooled, external driver LEDs I have and the output is the same.

Installed a second battery with Dave's, 4 plus battery tray. Unfortunately, my hood holder was hitting one of the posts so I ordered gas struts and installed them today. A little more difficult getting in the engine bay, but I've wanted these:
I'm running all my wires through the firewall via 2 32 pin deutsch autosport connectors. The drivers side is nearly full. I'm trying to keep wires organized, but its difficult:
Drilled a hole and running wires through a electrical conduit to the second autosport connector.

Darn. I would have done it but my shop won’t give my cruiser back. If I would have know they were taking so long, I would have looked for someone else to install my engine

anyone know where I can buy a custom bolt size that literally doesn’t exist?
