@cims1970fj40 - here are a few more shots from when they went in:

I went the bolt on route - drilling 24 holes in the frame was a challenge to say the least. I like that it’s “less permanent” than welding them on but welding would have been way easier.

Those look super good. I would totally put a pair of those on mine. I like that they're low profile and also protect, but keep the stock steps.

Yep, that's exactly why I went with them! I wish I could say I built them, but White Knuckle gets all the credit there. No affiliation whatsoever, they just make some really solid sliders.

started on a new rear harness.

I replaced a few wires on some lamps by putting some solder on the end of a stripped wire, filing it smooth, peening it to a larger diameter with a hammer, and restoring its contact surface with a file. I used two applications of shrink wrap around the collar near the lamp socket. My plan is to eliminate the rear taillight connectors.

Kinda, but the housings are, "Made-In-Japan," not OEM, the CCOT rock shields are so-so, top and bottom, and the original harness metamorphosed into mouse turd deposits on top of the gas tank, and air cleaner.

I would love to go there as well! Not fond of the cold though living in GA all my life I like the heat better than the cold. To bad it’s going in that direction. However it was still a red state during the presidential elections.
The only big thing now is the runoff here in GA on Jan 8th. I’m going to make sure I’m there to vote. Wasn’t happy at all with outcome with the presidential election.
AAAAAhhhh..... Our once upon a time, reliably sane state is now the EMBARRASSMENT of the South! If we can’t come through with two senators, I may move to Alabama :hillbilly:
Hopefully the rest of GA can overcome Atlanta’s hidden suitcases full of ballots?

The other things that I did was to have both combination lamps have its own sub-harness, that originated at the cowl, to avoid any split on the exterior.

There are extra grounds on all the lamp chassis outside of the cab, and the horn relay - addressing real problems that should have never been there.
I like your thinking here.

Interesting flares there...

In a good way or a bad way? Like them or not, I embedded them in a tree my last wheeling trip and all that happened was a little scuffed paint...and I mean embedded...

They serve their purpose!

Metal! Nicely done....

The design is Dave’s over at 4Plus. He cut and shipped the flats and gussets. I’m responsible for the awful looking welds. I take full responsibility for that evil. But, like the rest of the truck, it looks alright for 20ft.

I used 5 pin weathepak connectors for the rear lights. Also running a grounds from all to the front ground next to the battery. Except the fuel gauge that will remain grounded in it original spot (didnt know if it would cause interference)
