I have a Goal Zero Lithium 1400 that I use to power video equipment, charge camera batteries, editing computer, run led lights and power a small fridge, etc, The panels keep a constant charge on the battery during the day and I just added a 12v cable adapter from the vehicle. Im getting about 65 watts max in full sun from the panels and another 60ish from the truck when its running which is just enough to keep my batteries fully charged during normal use or I get about 2-4 days while in remote locations.

I love seeing people use solar as much as possible... I’m talking recreationally. But, love the concept, residentially as well.

I’ve used a 90W system with my travel trailers for years, to run everything except the AC and the fridge... the fridge runs off propane, using 12vdc for the electronics.

I use an 18w solar tender to keep 44s battery up, when camped. The battery never dies, bbecause I shut it off, when camped.

But, it provides me an additional modicum of security, when camped in Solitude..

Got it out of the body shop yesterday. They repainted to fiberglass cap to get rid of the pin holes that were left from the first painting. I expected the original painter to skin it with bondo to get rid of the pin holes but they didn't. This has been eating away at me for a year now and I am finally happy to get it finished. They also removed the fiberglass cap and removed the "super strength" glue that gave up the ghost when I lifted to top back on last year. The straightened out the drip rail, cleaned off all the seam sealer and glue, riveted the cap to the drip rail, filled in with seam sealer and treated the rust with a rust killer they use. The cap looks better than ever and was worth more than what I paid for their work. Nothing much to see except for the rivets which are hard to see anyway.

While the cap was off I asked the shop to spray the inside of the cap with left over white paint. Even though the surface was rough it looks much better.

I even started on the camping trailer while the weather was warm enough to work outside. I removed all the old diamond plate on the top getting ready for the new upper frame with real storage and the RTT that goes on top of that.

My 70 bellhousing was previously cracked and repaired. I took the long way around to getting the bell housing off a 67 F motor to replace it. With the motor seized, I couldn’t rotate the flywheel to get the top 2 bolts from the clutch assembly.

Answer?.... pull the motor and get it all out from the bottom end.

Kinda fun to take it all apart. And I got a clean bellhousing to boot. The bonus is the flywheel and crankshaft that make a perfect table base for my man cave.

The boys and I drove 44 out to hike the area Mark and I hiked, in the DNWR, a few years back... Unfortunately, since I've taken plenty of pictures in this area, I didn't bother to carry my camera... Or, my phone.

The boys and I sat on a ridge and counted a steam of 27 of the most beautiful, powerful Jeeps ever to grace the DNWR. I hope at least the last dozen change their air filters.

I wish I'd carried my camera... it looked like a ghibli I watched sweep into Tripoli, Libya in 1969.

We hiked on, but stopped frequently to keep a running total of vehicles spotted... By the time we returned to 44, we had counted 72 Jeeps, 1 crazy Taco driver (flying... with little regard for his truck) and 2 of what looked to be Honda Civics!?!... I wonder if they're still running with fluids... That is no road for low slung cars, with no skid plates and thin side walled tires.

Today must be National Jeep Day or something...

The black/red combo looks awesome. What size are those wheels/tires? Looks like maybe South Carolina?
 
Would it be a surprise to find out that I went fishing?

Drove my rig all week, the RainX and new wipers have made a significant difference driving in the rain!

Nice weather today, the water is still cold, no fish rising.

Thanks for your kind words. Color is freeborn red, tires are 35s, and the location is eastern Tennessee.
Nice job, proportions look really good. Are you running the 6 or a v8?
