I flat towed my '71 FJ40 (on the right in this photo <----) back to New Mexico - it's my next project. It's been at my place in Nevada for the past 17 years. Got back after dark. They're predicting some snow overnight so I had to move it off the street and into the driveway in case the snowplows come through. It currently has no transmission so it needed some help from its younger sibling (on the left in this photo <----) to get it off the street.

Two and half years from start to finish.
you did a great job!!!!I like the idea of attaching older metal mirrors to newer style arms-can you post a detail picture how it is attached?Thanks!!

@drnekFJ40

To get the 3 hole backing over the "ball" part of the arm, you have to "pie cut" part of the backing plate so it will slip over the arm.
Once you tighten it up it doesn't vibrate like the plastic mirrors.

This is an old pic, but you can see where I cut it.

Here’s a close up of the pie cut. I went with the euro spec convex mirrors - local dealership was able to get them in for me

Hey @RAGINGMATT whats your method of cleaning the wires on those switches? I found soda blasting works good but I'm always looking for better ways.

I use The OEM Factory Toyota 5 step wire harness cleaning & rejuvenation Kit or TOYO Guard Kit as it was commonly refereed to @

The Dealership level back when I was working in Parts & Service Circa 1990-2002 :)
