Tossed some vht black on the performer intake and hooker headers. Came out nice.

Installed a part of my OEM bows I got from FJ40Matt to see how the Safari look appeals to me. I may never use my OEM soft top hardware but I like knowing I have it. Bought the FST doors he had as well. Shipping to San Diego was a little under $500 so not bad. Here are some pix. Also got the rear tub top loop brackets I was missing— perfect match for my somewhat patina rig

Freshly rebuilt transfercase has a slow leak from the freeze plug wedged between the trans and transmission:

Super bummed because I don’t see a clever way to fix this without pulling the transfercase. I mentioned this in my build thread as well but figured I’d ask here in a more widely viewed forum.

Any clever ideas? If not I may just let it leak...probably not worth pulling the whole case.

It seems to me, it’s gonna leak again, from somewhere, before too long... assuming you drive it.

But, since it’s a freeze plug, lets see what @65swb45 thinks.

Agree as well. Somewhat of a bummer I get it but there will always be some seepage from an engine, be it a 40 or a Muira. Curious what Mark’s practical advice would be but I don’t see that as a biggie. You could easily correct it of course but those gremlins would always make their presence known somewhere.

Dang, welding in shorts, short sleeves and no helmet/face protection. Tanning salon :p
