Replaced TREs with new 555s from Cruiser Outfitters and new rods from BudBuilt. Replaced old stabilizer with new OME stabilizer. Took a test drive and steering is much improved.

Not exactly over the past week (more like over the past months ), but installed an inverter under the seat:

Added a Fire Extinguisher to the Roll Bar:

And designed/made/installed covers for the B-Post holes.

Looking forward to driving season but winter is still holding on. . .

Well the Albright solenoid was a PIA but it’s done. I had to do some creative wiring and modify the solenoid back plate a bit. I still need to source some cable boots and hook up pos and negative cables to batterie.

All done and hooked up to battery! New solenoid is working as it should. Very happy camper!! Thank you @SMG for the shiny new decals!

Nothing extraordinary but maybe helpful to someone else...
I was not overly pleased with the way my Wheelskins wrap fit (I double checked to make sure I ordered right size!). It just seemed too loose so...... since I was aware of how useful a certain kind of athletic tape has been for me in my past life... at least a gazillion ankles wrapped in my day
... I used it to ‘thicken’ the wheel, then reapplied the wrap - it feels much better!

*If someone has already posted doing this, excuse my plagiarism!

Drove mine around for the last week or so, went fishing down along the river. The weather has been pretty nice this last week so the 40 has been the daily driver!

It still needs a lot of minor work done but at least I can drive it and enjoy it!

You weren’t the other side of Atlanta, I’d gladly do it just to see the Z!

There are likely cheaper alternatives but I got Wheelskins size BX (according to their site)... Did save about $5 by ordering from Amazon!

*Instructions say to count on 1 hour to complete........ I’m sure it took me closer to 2

Nope, I’m a long way from the Arkansas, that is the Bitterroot river in western Montana. The Arkansas is a great fishing river though, one of my favorite ones when I lived in Colorado.

I made a "mini plaque" to cover up the FJ40Dash logo on my replacement dash pad. It only took me 6 years to do it.

Good idea for the plaque. Measured the space and took it to the only trophy maker we have here in my hometown. After 17 days they are just now asking if I want shiny or brushed silver. Almost told them where to stuff it.

I thought I would post exactly how to replicate @bsevins ambulance door pin
solution. Since these pins (in stainless steel) are not cheap I'm giving the exact part
numbers I had success with. Obviously you may find these elsewhere but
this what I had good results with.

Prior to installation I nipped the old pins out with a grinder and cleaned up my hinges.

Note 1: the 60mm shoulder length on the bolts is *slightly* longer than needed so
I used a washer on the either side of the hinge (outside...see pic)
Note 2: the threaded portion of the bolt is also longer than needed so I nipped the
extra thread off with the grinder where it was flush with the nut.

These came from boltdepot.com:

Been replacing FLAPS wire terminals with Coolerman terminals. Oh how I loathe crawling under the dash. I prefer polishing over wiring so I took some scratches outta the inspection light socket.

Made myself some teak door handles to replace those cracked and missing plastic ones that came on the FJ40 but are no longer available. Kind of like upgrading to the wood trim package in a Jaguar.....

Darn, Wish I had known about that before I did the leather on my steering wheel.

My steering wheel is a 71 Caddy and skinny. I like a thicker Dia. wheel. Yours looks good.
