@CRZR45 is that single stage paint you used? Looks great

Took the opportunity of a quiet Sunday morning and some sunshine to do an overdue valve adjustment on the 45 at the shop. Once again, the in-dash vacuum guage did not show anything unusual. But it didn't 'feel' right. Sure enough, the exhausts were all tight, which doesn't show up on the guage, but definitely cuts into the powerband at higher rpms. Definitely happier engine now.:)

Saturday and Sunday I was like a kid on Christmas. I picked up 5 large bins of OEM NOS mostly early(1964-67) parts........almost all of which are NLA some ages ago.

some of the highlights, were
new Tin Cup master

2 new in Toyota box early wiper motors

4 new OEM TEQ early 9mm wheel cylinders, new slave, new soft lines(for both) OEM rebuild kits for early masters up the wazzo

oddly.....there was also a new OEM headlight switch with is the correct version(not the one sold now) for my 82.......has dimmer and lite.

large box of wiper blades, new early arms

must be 40 different rebuild kits for all hydraulics

new 50amp meter, bunch of new bib lights, washer pump motor, turn signals, lens, door strikers, a ton of shifter boots(some are for the early t case) and shifters.

and what I think are OEM bi fold door W/S........!

cant say I have ever seen a new one of these(on left)

so basically everything I needed to redo(and then redo again) my drum brakes on my 64 with new OEM parts......for a fraction of what I spent with SOR

I left some early(65 and before hard doors) but then realized they has soft door hinges on them........will get the hinges.

that was my thinking, I need to pull up the part #'s, one is not showing, the other is shown in one of the W/S threads. I will also compare to my Bi fold door.

@Landpimp Looks like Christmas came early for you!

If there is indeed some bi-fold weatherstrip, and if you don't need it right away, I'd like to extend an offer to replicate it.

I have all the early parts books so I'll will figure it out. he only had a 64....so I can't think they are anything else.

I'll work on it today hopefully

This is into the pre-EPC years, so comparing to your door would be great!

I assembled the bib and installed the hand brake along with the antenna.

Snap! I right there behind you...

Not totally technical per se, but the 40 is back up and running excellent (after a thorough mechanical overhaul by Voodoo man!). Top and doors on now with the cooler weather upon us. Door hinges adjusted and door catch/latch set up so they are working well with the new weatherstrip. My 15 year old son just got his level 1 driving permit and is learning to drive the manual trans on the 40. Good thing that clutch is robust. He's progressing - finally getting the hang of smooth clutch/gas/shift/steer. Stressful on me though !!!
He digs that 40. Wants me to pick him up at school in it so he can drive home (and look cool). Once he gets his full license he'll be wanting to drive it full time. We'll see about that ......... Another generation of future 40 owners on the way.

Got the oversized but stock 45 passenger side mirror arm back on my 45. The powderpaint really makes them stand out.View attachment 1361377

Roger that. I was a few cars in front of you on Burbank Blvd this AM on my way to get gas at Costco. The mirrors were the first thing I noticed, then realized, "Hey, that's @65swb45 !"

Which time? I rolled into the McDonalds at the five way shortly after 5am. Then I rolled along Burbank again on my way back from the warehouse around 11am.

Reworked my driver's seat bracket, to allow another 1.5"-2" of legroom and fabbed a shift-lock to prevent shifting out of reverse. Slip the hitch lock ove the shift-cane, slide the bottom under the seat bracket and lock it thru the existent seat bracket hole.

Also finally found a way to carry my sleeping bag and horseshoe pillow (in the black plastic garbage bag), for emergencies... e.g. on the trips when I don't have my bed made up.

I thought it must have been around 9am, since I'd just dropped the little one of at preschool and was headed to the office. I know what 5am looks like, but I definitely wasn't in Burbank at that time. o_O

Ah! 9am I would have been heading WEST on Burbank, to pick up a load of firewood to take to my friend (owns the mini-motorhome FJ40) tomorrow.

I get around. :pant:

Love to see some fresh pics of that motor home mark if your friend doesn't mind:)

I Have a few saved from the past.
Love that 40 home on wheels:)
