Spent 4.5 hrs rebuilding and detailing 2 rear wheel cylinders on the lwb45. The last rebuild, 22 years ago, was not as thorough. They weren't leaking, I just figured it was time.

Also spent way too much $ having the 45s mirror arms powderpainted in a dual stage pewter like @SW20 s valve cover. Now the telescoping tube is too thick to fit back in on one of them.:bang: The single stage black ones on Ruftoys work fine, so it hadn't occured to me there would be a problem. Lesson learned.

New bumpers installed and also rebuilt my carburetor. I'm always looking out for deal on the Asian carbs. Found one recently on ebay for $60. Damaged top, but excellent body. Took a top off one of my spares and built a new to me carb that is performing the best ever.

New rear bumpers. Bought the rear bumpers from Toyota for less than what paint would cost.

Rebuilt my carb with a Keyster kit (thanks Pin_head for video), drilled out the primary jets per fj40jim's recommendations, installed a new-to-me uncracked intake manifold (thanks Pardion) w/ a block-off plate (thanks Kurt@C.O.) w/ Remflex gskts, removed & plugged the exhaust heat-riser flapper valve, installed a new air-rail check valve(Amazon).

Installed the center console, heated and bent the 5 speed shift lever so it didn't hit the drivers seat in 2nd and altered the tranny hump to accommodate the higher H55 shift tower. In the process of installing a radio in the console along with a CB.

@olive I think I misunderstood your question this morning. I thought you were asking about the column cover, but now I think you were asking about the Wheelskin steering wheel cover. I bought the wheel cover directly from the Wheelskins website, wheelskins.com

Yes I was asking about the steering wheel, thanks for the info I have been looking around for a cover that looks good and yours is exactly what I want.

@olive I would recommend the Wheelskin product. It works as advertised and is not difficult to install. A little pricey but worth the money spent.

Cleaned up fuel lines and aux tank mess. Fixed reverse/windshield wiper grimlin, fixed heater wiring (have heat now) issue. Ordered new jump seat hardware and speedo cable. Installing speedo cable and new oil seal in the rear of transfer case next week. Then seats Pics to follow. Cheers!

Started stripping my front end for the resto, degreased and water blasted the 12ht. I was able to find the annoying oil leak that has been pestering me for a while.

Got the parts to rebuilt the front end with a new diff head, disks and 60 PS, really looking forward to it.

Picked up my new to me front axle, it's a Dana 60 out of a 1990 Dodge 1 ton, something else to tear down and rebuild

My 6 month old son now fits in the onesie we got him with FJ40's drawn on it, so naturally I had to get a pic of him with the project 40! :)
