One thing I discovered is my Warn wheel locks are "not like the others". In my case mine didn't have the circlip shown in so many videos. It has a bolt through a retaining washer (or is it a bushing in this application). Anyway, I shot a video of the disassembly that I'll post later.

Wound up doing a front caliper replacement while I was in there.
I'd be super stoked that this work is done, but while test driving it I discovered a radiator leak.
So that's on tomorrows list.
Yes, everything from the inner axel seal on out was replaced. I used the kit from Cruiser Outfitters and included the wheel bearings and races.Warns are that way. The Aisins have the circlip.
You replaced your seals and bearings too, right? Got the heavy duty inner seal from Marlin Crawler (Cruiser Tea sells too)?
If you only used one giant roll of blue towels I am impressed. My 40 was gnar and I went through a six pack of rolls (and a case of beer! drum roll please>>>)

I like the W123 wagon in the back. Is it a Euro car or did the US spec ones have the rear fog lights?I did my knuckles a few weeks ago (then a 4 wheel disc brake conversion, bent, flared and ran all new brake lines). I don’t know how many shop towel rolls I used, but if I had to guess it was between 4 and 7.

ThisI thought one of the best pieces of practical advice that I came across for doing a knuckle job was placing a couple of large cardboard boxes under each wheel for catching all of the old grease & debris and chunking dirty shop towels. It helps to keeps the shop floor somewhat clean.

My pro tip? Drop it off at a buddy’s place, wait a few days, and… voila!This.
I’ll add that lining the box with a can liner helps too.
I put in directly under to catch all the lovely stuff that spawns in there.
I had the same frustrating experience fabricating a custom exhaust for the 3F-E I put into my 40 and trying to get it to pass a bubble leak test. It was a never ending cycle of cleaning, welding, testing, swearing, and repeating. I here that TIG welding is better for body work and may try that when I get to the body work. There is a nice TIG welder and a good instructor at the makerspace here in town.Lot of burn through so far…… going to switch to .023 wire! Knew there was a reason I’ve been procrastinating about body work……
