What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

The H78-15 pressure (not for "normal driving," sand driving, or while using a snow-pattern tread) but for "high-speed driving," measured at 'cold inflation' (psi) -
FJ40, hardtop and soft-top: 26-front, and 30-rear
FJ55 'Iron Pig': 27-front and 31-rear

I figure that with a larger tire/rim combo, you could probably run pressures in the middle-to-high 20's (psi) on the highway? Maybe even lower?

One of my treads started a very slow-leak after some actual off-roading, a short off-the-trail adventure that resulted in rare varieties of cactus spines resembling whiskers sticking out of the sidewalls when I returned home, lol. I'll be at 13psi on one tire in a few months from now.

Another marathon day. Just about done! Off to exhaust on monday. i keep putting off the exhaust work and
just want her done. I assembled the top in 10 hours with a new headliner, few wrinkles but hey, its home made...
the guy in the ic is my 80 yo farm hand, he loves working on these vehicles with me.... more like making me really crappy farm coffee LOL

Thank you so much for the kind words. It was definitely more than a task to build this thing. I think it came out great though. I’m very happy with it so far I just have to tame the exhaust noise.

I added 4° shims to the front. I would love a set of lifted parabolic springs because I’ll be mainly using this for the road as I have a Land Rover defender for off-road I don’t wanna scratch this truck up.

I think that I got this one from a Mudder in the swamp. F.5. The grease inside the Bendix was rusted and dry. The jump-ring was something for removal and replacement. I eventually pressed it back on with a block of wood.

Then, I had to figure-out the brushes. Getting the springs loaded, while the brushes are in a retreated-position isn't described in the manual. Some carnage on my thumb from the jump-ring, looks worse on camera.

Tested it on a battery. I'll run it for a while, while I do a refurbish on the one that is correct for my 2F, then shelf-it.

I have watched your truck paint work and it always amazed me that your working on a dirt floor and the paint looks like it was done in a professional paint booth. I have lived on a dirt road and worked on dirt for 40 years…. It sucks…I love this amazing job you did here.

It may have been crawling. First gear L/L is 186:1. Ha!

I am planning to build a 6-point cage towards the beginning of next year. I have to button up under the hood first, then finish lengthening my hard top so that I know where my cage needs to be. I’m hoping to have it in SW Colorado towards the end of next summer so I’m on a bit of a crunch, especially since I really only have 60-70 available days to finish this in between work and pickleball.

Gas lifts installed on the hood. So much better. It opens way up and holds itself. No more propping it back against the wind screen.

Had to do some welding to my home made brackets and the hood so the lip of the hood wouldn't simply buckle when I closed it.

Thanks to @bikersmurf for the thread he did on the topic. Used alot of what he already figured out in this.

Looks great. I really like how the struts are tucked in tight and not in the way at all. I encourage you to add pictures and details of your install into the thread I started to help others. Your install is very similar but slightly different.
