Notched the inner fender and pushed it all up and cut 3" out of the outer fender
And that's how you get a 3" lift in the front for free
Later on I'll trim the rear and weld up the inner fenders so they attach to the outer. But for now, at least I can drive it

I bought it a while back of fleabay for $50. Manufactured by Davtron for small aircraft. You will need a 24v to 12v step down inverter, couple of bucks on fleabay as well.
Started as a Jotto mount for the laptop. The arms give the ability to place it just about anywhere and any angle you want. Making swinging the laptop out of the passengers area easy. The Jotto is top line product with many attachment mounts available. I removed all mounts but the main tube, welded a stop inside the tube, and a flange on the bottom. By mounting using only the post between the console and seat in does not make the passenger unhappy. Drilled straight down and inserted a long grade 8 3/8" bolt that goes through a couple layers of a sheet metal beam and out the bottom. A plate to add strength under the body of the sheet metal and tighten the grade 8 bolt. The post mount has zero movement or flex.
I made a coupling out of some spare Jotto parts to eliminate the arms. I still have the ability to tilt, raise, and lower the mount.

Continuing with the interior and electrical
Ripped off a fender flare again, but after the last time I got tired of repairing them and used the Toyota plastic clips(like for the interior trim) to reattach it instead of the bolts. It popped right back on. No damage. (In my state the tires can't protrude past the body, so I need the flares to pass inspection.) Wish I'd thought of this before I destroyed my rear flare and had to replace it...

Dynamat and Dynaliner -
Dynamat is under the Dynaliner and is for vibration and some sound control. The spongy gray on top is the Dynaliner and this is for Heat and sound control. Albeit an expensive route to go, I wanted a one and done for the next ten years.
Sized up some lights for my roof rack build
Installed another valve cover gasket to replace the new one I did over the weekend that moved and was cut. Also adjusted my kickdown cable... what a difference. Makes the 35's not feel quite as bad.

We have found that most Forest personal really have little idea what is in the areas that they manage, just places on a map/satellite image. Getting them into the field, putting them in the rigs, giving firsthand testimony, sharing the passion of what is important to OHV, showing responsible use, etc, nets big benefits. We get a better understanding of the challenges/issues they face, find what we can do to best help them, learn what battles are worth the fight, etc.
Before we started doing this, most of them had little concept of what OHV is, mostly ideas formed from you tube, TV commercials, environmentalist groups, etc, not a good picture. For instance, they would look at map data and see two (or more) routes to one place, call them "braids", "switchback shortcuts", etc, bad things in Forest management. We targeted this on the first trip, went to a place where some ran the "braid" and some went around, the rig that the Forest Supervisor was in got the biggest wheel lift, he was grinnin! When we got to the top, had the quick meet, what did we just see? Some were equipped/experienced/feeling their wheaties, selected the more difficult line, others went around. It's a double edge sword if the whole trail is too easy, some will go off trail looking for a challenge, too difficult, some will go off looking for easier. This allows for a veritable where all can have fun and allows for those who are less experienced to learn. They fully got the concept of "obstacle and bypass", agree that it is "recreation", etc, we agree that there are way too many useless "braids".
This type of thing will never happen in office meetings, tried for way too long, stone wall, but by making an example on the trail, easy deal. In the "old days" would go out and find things (trails), or get new map data, that includes significant changes and think wtf are they doing, screwing stuff up, was largely because they had no idea of what is important to OHV. Now we are more likely to get communication asking what we think before the decision is made, a much more productive relationship!
And even better, all of them we have had out, have had a BLAST, can't wait to go again, the next "Forest Service Field Trip" is already being planned and will be a continuing thing, very benaficial.
