Did you order the right planted brackets? There's the normal then scheel mann/cobra version I believe. Didn't have any issues with mine.
I did. I placed the order directly with scheel-mann; they ordered the brackets. Interestingly enough, when I placed the order, I specifically asked about receiving the correct 80 brackets. At least I had, on hand, what was needed to make the changes.

@TXMeatball PS went in without issue. Plug and play with the Planted template. Zero fitment issues vs the DS.

No pics. But got my sunroof closed again. “It has a broken cable”. And found an old post about removing the pins so the switch doesn’t work and the light still does. 😎

Finished up the front driveshaft U joint replacement. I've never done U joints before, it's more of a hassle than I thought it would be until the Tiger tool showed up. As far as I'm aware they are factory from 31 years ago and 340k miles. Getting the driveshaft to break free of the transfer case also took some Kroil and a few whacks of the hammer.

I'll do the rears when I have some time in a few weeks.

This was the thread.

My 4x4Labs Sliders failed me so decided to cut them up and make new ones. I had some quality concerns when I got them and later found some engineering weaknesses that need addressed.

Well we brought our 80 across half of Norway for summer hollyday! I love the car!

Still need a lot of care, but the engine is now working good, going to get some new injector in that just arrived yesterday.

And a front axel is ready for some care, just started leaking diffoil in the knuckle - never done that before, do I need to do both sides at ones? Limited garage space 😅

To pull out the axle shafts you'll need about 1000mm of space on the left side and 700mm on the right side so you might have to do one at a time or do it outside
