I am very well aware that I can ground anywhere however that's exactly why I wanted this fuse block. I didn't want to have grounds connected all over the place in random locations. I also normally buy the Amazon RANDOM LETTERS company fuse block. After rusted terminals, contact issues with fuses, and poor construction, I wanted something that A) did exactly what I was looking for (positive and negative facing out on the same side) and 2) was a quality product.

This is the only BlueSea product on my truck. My breakers, relays, relay box, wireless relay, distribution blocks, and wiring is all just generic Amazon stuff.

BTW, my previous setup was a "ground anywhere" and it was a mess.
I’m definitely not disputing the quality of blue sea stuff. I think it’s great and use it myself. I just use these.

I feel you can more easily get tidy wiring with them. Also Toyota put grounds all over the vehicle to begin with. Just use those. 🤷‍♂️

I don’t know why everyone keeps getting those particular fire blocks. Blue sea makes some high quality stuff but they also make positive only fuse blocks that take up way less space and cost less. Running negatives for the whole cable run is overkill and useless for most of these low current circuits. Just ground it at the vehicle, that’s how automotive wiring works. These particular fuse blocks are designed for fiberglass boats where you don’t have a common metal ground. Also note the fuse blocks do not provide switching. On top of everyone overspending for these blocks that include negative, I often see an appropriately under spending on crimp connections and tools to properly crimp.
The 12v with negative is actually less expensive

I work full time in a hospital but part time at a bicycle shop which conveniently has a parts washer.

The carbon was so baked on when I did mine the purple power would barely dissolve anything after letting in circulate overnight…. Ended up using a long wire bottle brush on the end of a drill to break it loose enough for the solvent to penetrate. In the end, it almost looked new but it was a lot of work.

I spent about an hour and a half on this. The solvent in this washer isn't very strong but it's heated so I think that helped. I didn't get it perfectly OCD clean like would have liked but it's much much better. In the end the engine is getting yanked next winter anyway and replaced with a Cummins so I'm happy for now.

Thinking out loud.

I got an LX450 in decent shape without an engine I bought for cheap.

The plan has always been v8 swap it, make it a sleeper and mostly street Cruiser.

I can however buy a 1FZFE coil pack complete engine that’s in my shop for fairly cheap. It needs a light rebuild at the minimum.

So trying to decide on v8 with an auto or turbo’ed coil pack 1FZFE with a manual transmission. 🤔

Cheers

Always the choice with the manual!

Turbo with a aftermarket ECM would be a sweet setup! And a manual to keep in the power would be even sicker! Wouk bring a good resale value also,

Hmmm tough call but the 1FZ does love a turbo, but ironically I think that is going to be more expensive than the V8 swap......

I vote coil pack 1fzfe + manual… unless it’s a diesel V8 instead

Got the idea from this thread to try out an LED light bar in the turn signal location on an ARB:

I wired it up tonight using the factory JDM foglight wiring and switch. Next step is to figure out the best way to mount it in the bumper

Also got an Alamosa GMRS antenna. Need to run the coax into the cabin

Someone on here built a coil pack 1FZFE with manual transmission. If I recall he built it and it is making a decent amount of power. Both would be cool builds.
