I'm still struggling with my AT tire choices, probably have 6 months to figure it out. I want good off-road performance balanced with near-best on-road performance, including rain and snow. There's a three way tie for first place depending on my mood.

BFG KO3 - Some sources still complain about balancing, but I think this is my front runner
Nitto TG G3 - I liked my OG Terra Grapplers, but the G3 tested last at tyrereview.com
Falken A/T3W - Some say stiff, heavy sidewall impacts handling. Mixed info on road noise.
Toyo OC III - Mixed opinions on road noise, some saying loud. Less aggressive tread.

The hard thing about tires is that most people reviewing them have no real clue. Few of us drive enough tires to really have a qualified opinion, and many of the problems we see reported are actually caused by the the vehicle or the installer.
This guy does real good in depth tire reviews that are unbiased.

I added tripple bypass shocks.

Reminded me of those fake intercoolers back in the day

I'm just gonna say it... I have no idea what that's supposed to mean.
This thread is what did you do with your 80.
Right ?🤷‍♂️

I do really like the look of the stock flaps on the 80...mine is with flares and no running boards, so very clean. That said, after bending a couple inside out, I shaved them down. Last trip out, a rock got up between the slider and tire and completely ripped my passenger one off. Bummer because I really do like the look with them! Now I need to get the White Knuckles that are longer since the flaps are gone... ;)

Fortunately @Outsane makes some great caps to clean up the bottom of the flares after removing the flaps.

Love your truck, keep the pics coming, and glad that you got your PS issue sorted!

Hear that. On my built 100, I made my own short rear flaps and cut down the fronts short but also made them fit around the sliders. Only bummer on the shorty rears is mud flies right past them (ih8mud) into the ValleyTech rear bumper interior. I've kicked around some rally flaps that are longer and "bendy" or some hinged "doors" to block off the interior of the bumper.

Installing DeltaVS QPM. Blue tape locates the cubby on the LX450 trim (left), and where I want to put an external switch panel (right). I am putting the fuse panel behind the cubby door for access, as well as one end of the DC to DC convertor. It has buttons to change modes, and initiate charging the starting battery.

Rivnuts going in. DeltaVS use much nicer rivnuts than what I use.

Pulled it back out to install the DC to DC converter, fuse block, and fuse panel, and 120A relay (triggered by ACC).

Blue Sea components, and LiTimes DC to DC Charger/MPPT and LiTimes 12V 100Ah battery.

Still waiting on stuff to finish up.

Looks great. Do you have a link to the LiTime dc-dc/mppt unit?

finally moving forward with new 4" exhaust for the Cummings swap. 4" all the way from turbo to tail, oval most of the way so it fits between frame and t-case nicely, with at least one large-ish muffler in there if all goes well.

Dropped it off at Budbuilt to get 4.88 gears, 3:1 low range gears, auxiliary fuel tank, rear E locker.

Contemplating replacing my factory suspension while it's there. Anyone have recommendations for stock height suspension replacement given the extra weight (auxiliary fuel tank, rear tire carrier)? I've had OME stock height on a different 80 and I got about 1" lift out of that.

I know OME offers standard, medium, heavy, and heavy duty load suspensions, but I don't think they do for anything less than a 2" lift.

Dobinson comfort ride kit (stock height) with a 15mm rear puck for the extra weight.
