Cheap fix on Ebay. I had to replace mine last year and it cost me about $30 shipped to Alaska.
I'm replacing both tail lights with smoked DEPO LED taillights to match the DEPO headlights.

Whoa! It fixed my jumping rpm needle! Must have needed to be grounded to metal. No more jumping rpm needle.

I will be checking this connection on my rig now. I get the jumpy rpm needle but it's only when driving 65mph on windy days. I bet it is the wind moving the wire on this sensor. Thanks for the tip.

Enjoyed our local club High Desert Cruiser pancake breakfast in the wilderness west of Albuquerque and @mesaman and I celebrated our 18/28 years married and together!

We had 13 rigs attend the breakfast and 11 of us hit the trails the after a lovely campout and breakfast.

Had a little breakage with a non-Toyota rig, a G-Wagon, but we got him out and on his way! I believe he had to be trailered home though…

Anyways, had a blast in our 80 and I’m enjoying learning our new rig, Big Butt Betty, and making new memories and dreaming of mods! A sleeping platform and storage system is in the near future!

Check out either Low Country Land Cruisers or Upstate Cruisers. Both clubs are located in South Carolina and attend our events on a fairly regular basis. They also host many of their own get togethers and tour the Smokey Mountains.

So this is how the lights were mounted from the PO and I hated it

i was thinking of just cutting the old hoop off and making a new one that the lights could mount under the hoop but I was out there today messing around with lay out and wanted to know what people think? Either 1,2,3 or chop it off?

Tailgate panel from Overland Custom Design and a sweet @Bellfab V1 tire carrier. I've been crushing on those tire carriers for a bit. Finally scored a great deal on a used one locally. Stout and sexy steel. I hit it with some 600 grit and clear coated it. 3rd.5 row still intact to prove to the wife that Honu is still capable as a sensible family toting luxury SUV. 😎

I feel sorry for the person having to sniff rubber sitting in that seat. 😆🤣
