Tailgate panel from Overland Custom Design and a sweet @Bellfab V1 tire carrier. I've been crushing on those tire carriers for a bit. Finally scored a great deal on a used one locally. Stout and sexy steel. I hit it with some 600 grit and clear coated it. 3rd.5 row still intact to prove to the wife that Honu is still capable as a sensible family toting luxury SUV. 😎

Who made the tail gate cover? Better looking than my old carpet!

So this is how the lights were mounted from the PO and I hated itView attachment 3734482i was thinking of just cutting the old hoop off and making a new one that the lights could mount under the hoop but I was out there today messing around with lay out and wanted to know what people think? Either 1,2,3 or chop it off?

yeah not a fan of how those lights are mounted, I personally prefer a more subtle look. I’d keep the hoop though

None of the above. I'd pare it down to one pair of lights and sell the unused ones.

I fabbed up a shelf of sorts for mine. I have a set of LP9s going on so it also sits below the bottom of the hoop's top bar. I have it off now getting ready to go to powder coat that and the grille. Hope to have it on by Thanksgiving.

Fixed my horn issue.... After using a multimeter I and a buddy concluded bad horns. So i purchased new Toyota Premium Horns.

Installed them this am and removed the SS hardware mounting the old ones with OEM type bolts; nothing.... Checked the fuse, looked good. could still hear the relay click, pulled fuse no relay click. Then got Aligator jumpers and went from bracket on new horns to proper ground. HONK HONK. Guess my old horns are still good..... Replaced the SS hardware holding the horn bracket to the radiator support again with OEM type bolts. Honk Honk.... :bang:

Freaking California's worrying about image. Leave that shi* alone and drive that rig.

On Sept 7, a couple friends, my Blue Heeler Monzo, and I drove up to Corral Hollow near Bear Valley in Northern California and had a really great time....

Preparing for a project. 37 gallon main LRA will be installed. Picked it in Portland because CA will not allow shipping to here. How stupid are they? They missed the $220 sales tax...

With the 1HDFT/H151 this will give me 800 miles of range, so I will never fill diesel in CA. Figured in 2 years the difference if fuel price will pay the price of the LRA tank.

Looking back through my old photos, it's surprising how many middle finger to the truck photos I have in there  The most memorable one was the lower pan arch seal :flipoff2:

Oh yeah that's one I've been purposely ignoring.

This one was frustrating because it was supposed to be a five minute job and took over an hour to get that stupid temp probe off. I've definitely had harder jobs on this thing over the years.

I'm a pretty decent shade tree mechanic, but a lot of those jobs that people say takes 5 minutes...after my experiences, I call BS! Seriously though, even a little bastard wire clip that is hard to get to can hang you up. Glad you got it worked out! 🦀

It’s alive! been in the shop almost a year, turbos done and running great, got to break in the new engine and get a couple exhaust supports fabed up. Took it for a fill up of premium and gave her a quick bath. Got a dragging front caliper and squeaky shock. Will replace all the calipers and brake lines. This truck sat 4 years before I bought it and a year under my ownership. So lots of quirks to work out. The hood vent is pretty elite!
