Did the thing. Brought a few family members with me for their first 4x4 experience.

Nope. If you turn it around the will be in the same plane.Nope, this is how they go! The flanges are welded on in this manner.
Went camping up on Aspen Mountain. Fun plowing through some drifts and exploring the different spurs on the top. Came across a TRX that was STUCK. The girl that was with the guy already had a fire lit and the camp chairs out next to where they were stuck. They thought they were going to spend the night out there and apparently were already sitting there for a couple hours. Glad to have helped out and stumble upon them. Found a good camp spot after that.

I have the same ones and went through that.
That's why I know it to be true.
No idea. The vertically oriented one is welded that way to the downpipe. Also my sliders have a “cage” that goes around them anyway so no matter how the cats are oriented the cage is the lowest point.I agree with you, but regardless why would you not run it how he has it now for more clearance? Is there some advantage to having the cats vertical? They hang down more that way.

Awesome! Were they stuck-er than they look in that picture? Looks like they could have just shoveled out. Not doubting you, just curious.
Looks like a good day![]()
Ya, I took a 3 minute video of the whole recovery and screenshotted a photo of it towards the end of the recovery. Here is a better photo at the start. I didn’t think he was that wedged in either but he was pretty high centered. To the point that it was dragging the cruiser towards him. I’m not sure what a TRX weights but I’m willing to bet it’s a decent chunk heavier than my cruiser. Probably should have turned around and tugged him out but I totally agree, I thought he would roll right out no problem.

lauOld snow like that is as dense as concrete. No rolling out of that stuff![]()
Some converters are directional.
Home made with 10 series aluminum extrusion attached to the Bowfin. Love this stuff, endless possibilities. First on the list of many things to come for attachments. What kinda kayak mount is that? Looks great

Finally had a little bit of time today to myself.
Got the remaining parts cut right away for the rear mount setup, only to realize it'll take a bit longer with square tube at first.

Since I'm pressed for time, I made a mock-up using some 1/2" solid round stock. That's when I realized I don't have any more 100mm bolts for the plates that will sandwich the frame.
Used zipties to hold it in place while I figured rear mounting.

Just glad I left enough adjustment in the skid plate slots I implemented; this was key in order to use carriage bolts at the rear. Regular bolt heads would get destroyed if they got hit by rocks.

Going to be a busy week so I'll make the rear mount with square tube sometime next week. For the meanwhile, paint is drying.

Only going to use stainless steel hardware; the zinc bolts shown are stupid 80mm length...so they won't be used.

Looks pretty nice! You should clean up that exhaust pipe going into the muffler a little bit and weld a quick bead to hold it secure before it starts rattling around (unless it already is).
