Mine was too but it kept floating left to right (long bungee), always settling right in my rear view mirror, or it was squished and difficult to deploy (short bungee).Mine is a short bungee cord haha
So, you settled on the Mama Bear bungee?Mine was too but it kept floating left to right (long bungee), always settling right in my rear view mirror, or it was squished and difficult to deploy (short bungee).
Just gonna leave these right here for everyone's amusement:I commute in a Model S (disclaimer I also work at Tesla.. lol) every day and it is the best car I've ever driven/not driven. I put the thing in Auto Pilot and chill for the next 50 miles in stop and go traffic. It is lovely never going to a gas station; I just plug in when I get home and wake up with a full charge.

Ya, some previous versions of Autopilot had this phantom braking. I've experienced it in my car before. Scares the s*** out of you. It is getting better. I haven't experienced it in the past 5 months now.I was entering the interstate in my LC (acceleration monster - right?) and a Tesla allowed me on in front of him, about 12 feet in front of him. He was traveling about 55-60 MPH when I entered, essentially matching his speed.
All of a sudden, his Tesla stood on the brakes. The look on the driver's face was pure shock, as he was obviously not in control. The pickup behind him about rear-ended him due to the sudden slow-down.
Be aware that these cars can be reactive, so don't follow them too closely, because it may not be the driver that is driving, even though they think they are.
That happens quite often. He has no hands on the wheel, that car will eventually slow down, throw its hazards on and pull over coming to a stop if he doesn't wake and put torque on the wheel. Many of these have been found to be staged as well.

You're talking about Navigate On Autopilot. The car does not require input (even for lane changing, it can do it when it thinks it is ok), but does require a hand on the steering wheel applying torque. The system will check every so often based on travel speed.there are different levels of auto pilot and if that person has the advanced autopilot then the car will go on for a long while without any user input, it will even change lane by simply turn on the blinker.

There are devices to cheat it. I didn't see it on that car. Which is also why some of these have been discovered to be staged for internet points.Interesting, there are reports of people driving a long way asleep in Tesla’s. Oh well, obviously something I don’t have.![]()
