How much did you have to pay for @NLXTACY’s little bro?
LOL... all good. He got it done. I did tell him what RFT meant on the rear starter bolt. He’s got smaller hands then I do so that helps too.

Had a great time at Pismo Dunes with @GW Nugget and @ToyotaDon. Once the tires were aired down I handled the dunes great. My daughter @CUIcruiser drove a lot too. Way too much fun for one day.

It was great to meet up with more guys from Mud! Again, amazed at the awesome people I’ve met through my years of cruiser ownership.

I’ll be back.

Is that positive terminal close to the hood when it's closed? Could you turn the battery 180* so the positive terminal is on the inside? It'd sure suck to burn your truck to the ground if that terminal shorts on the hood...
It is the negative side. That black cap you see is just sitting on the battery because I just took it off the terminal in the picture

Took the 80 out with the wife and pups. Much needed after a long week! Screen to the RTT got stuck in the zipper and ripped it. Quick stitch fix.

Weekend before last I went to AOAA for the East Coast 4Runner Jamboree. We had a great turn out. I decided to drive the 80 rather than trailering the 4runner (and replacing the clutch, and a ton of other stuff). Drove up after work on Thursday, got there about 1:30 AM and crashed in the truck. Hit the trails about 9 the next morning in the rain off and on. Almost immediately popped the sidewall on my LF tire. It was muddy and slick but got better throughout the weekend (while I got better remembering how to wheel an unlocked truck). I wheeled the 80 a lot harder than I expected to but that is typical for me. It did great overall.. only times i got stuck was from me being dumb or the trail was beyond the truck's capabilities. Next time i go out I'll make some sliders and probably go up to a 2.5" lift.

My total carnage for the weekend: LF tire sidewall, all mud flaps, a couple bumper corners, exhaust, one flare, a few dents, and ripped off the stock roof rack. Driving 5 hours back from PA Sunday morning with no exhaust from the cat back was interesting. I did get like 17 mpg without exhaust or a roof rack Haha. Anyway, here's some pics:

Figured out the map app for the second day so here's the trails we did Saturday with another 80 and 3 4Runners:

took my 17 yr old son to a friends farm for some target shooting and quad bike riding, he had shot a .22 before, but enjoyed having a go with the bigger 45/70, 303, 30-06 and 12G. Did a oil change before the 1000km round trip but couldn't find any problems with the cruiser that needed fixing, sat on 110kmh (68mph) cruise control, there and back without fault.

Took my family to Moab over the weekend and ran a couple trails with a coworker that has a FJ Cruiser. My wife and daughter hung out in town and my 3 boys hit the trail with me. Was a fun day. We did Poison Spider, Golden Spike and Gold Bar Rim. I got hung up on my rear bumper climbing the waterfall on Gold Bar Rim, which normally isn't a big deal, I can typically just drag myself off the rock with the diffs locked. But for some reason my front locker stopped working on that obstacle. The rear tires were almost off the ground so I couldn't get enough traction with just the rear locked to push the truck off the rock so I ended up winching up. First time I've had to winch that obstacle. It gets worse every time I see it. Once the winch pull the bumper off the rock the truck crawled the rest. Stupid rock.

My boys got a bit of time behind the wheel too.

Last week I got my exhaust replaced. I mangled my Magnaflow Y pipe pretty bad so the cut it and replaced the elbow to get it back near where it should be, then ran over the frame and dumped it behind the RR tire. Sounds good, I'm happy with it.

Picked up some Thule load bars of craigslist over the weekend to re mount my basket. For the time being I just siliconed some plugs in place to fill the holes in the roof.

Finally I need to figure out some way to fix this flare. I'll probably have to pull it off and epoxy the mounts back on.

I saw that rig on the right out on the trail back in May. Didn't take it for a museum piece, what with the custom tub and independent suspension. Who's is that?

Just your every day mega cruiser locked chassis with an extended 3 row FJ40 body.
