Had a good weekend on the cruiser. Did diff and engine oils +filter, full coolant flush, fitted 79series bump stops in the rear so hopefully the 35s won’t hit the body anymore when it stuffs a tyre. Fitted a new shift lever boot under the gear levers, balanced the tyres and installed the high range underdrive and low range reduction gears from cruiser outfitters with a terrain tamer small parts kit. Some of the bearings in the transfer case were ROOTED, I was just going to get input/output seals but I’m glad I got the full kit. Layed down some sound deadening matts in the rear quarters and over the rear wheel wells, definitely made a difference. And finally I replaced the tired old paper Toyota speakers with some of the response brand ones they sell at jaycar, sound is so much better than before. I plan on getting some more sound deadening for the floor pan from Carbuilders.com.au some time soon. Then when I get my tax back it’s going to be a stage one slinky kit or a less expensive bilstein kit and a pair of sliders.

Found this little bad boy hiding in a box of old stuff at home, little bit of Sleep now I’m the fire from RATM to really showcase the new speakers

Repairs and upgrades always happen at the last minute because it's much easier to just procrastinate the rest of the time.

True. In my defense on this one the last time I shook down the front end a month or two ago the tie rod was fine.

Picked up more kids in Denver and headed to Mt. Evans. Enjoyed the cold, a brief light snow, and great view. Then drove to Moab and spent the night.

Finished with my retrofit and adjusted my headlights last night, but they still need fine tuning. I went to install my grill and didn’t like that it looked outdated so I painted it to match my headlights and ordered Depo corners and turn signals while I was at it. More to come once everything is buttoned up.

Went to Canyonlands. Experienced heat like never before. Drove the Schaeffer canyon, that was a terrific experience. Then drove it for more times. Got some excellent videography completed without jeeps or motorcycles in the way.

On the last ride down my daughter drove. She was a little terrified when I was driving and she was in the passenger seat, but with her driving in low low, she felt very comfortable. Left canyonlands and headed to Zion area.

The food along the way was good too. Stopped in some small town to pay my respects to Butch Cassidy.
