My trans flush is complete and while I was warming up to do a fluid check the rad decided to pop the top seal :bang:.

So be it, she is new to me and I am base lining her so now its cooling system refresh :). New rad, hoses, water pump and clutch to be ordered this week. Going with Aisan pump and blue clutch.

Still trying to figure where I am going to get rad. Dealer is out of budget range so considering the TYC, Koyo or Denso. I do not have to worry about the insane temps you folks get down in the south USA so that is being factored into it.

I purchased a rad from Performance Radiators years ago for my FJBJ62 and it was still going fine after 100,000 plus km and 10 years so I will consider one of those.

Are you sure they don't have tow points? How would they transport them on car carriers then?

Spent good amount of time digging under both bumper and got sand all over me while crawling under trying to find anything I can strap my tow strap to......nope!

And from looking under the body these cars are made soooo cheap! The control arms, axle and pretty much everything is sooooo small and cheap looking. Shocked they are road worthy.

I rolled 234000 miles on my LC yesterday.

Then we went to the grand opening of my employer's father's car storage facility here in Mesa, AZ.

Replaced the entire a/c system and finally have leak-free cooling just in time for it to start getting hot out.

Forgot to mention two weekends ago replaced every radiator/heater hose on the truck after the tiny one under the intake on the driver's side decided to let go on the way home from work.

Rebuild it all? Nice work area!
Going to drop the engine off next week at the machine shop. Gotta search for a transmission shop to rebuild the transmission next week. I figure I might as well since I have it out.

Took out the jump seats and am wondering what the hell to do with the seatbelts. Don't think I want to permanently remove just in case I need to haul around 7 people.. but it's a camping rig for my lady and our dog.

Finished my ripping apart of the interior carpeting project - power washed all the carpets, cleaned the sheet metal and insulation, and reinstalled the carpeting after it dried:

Found some coins for my troubles, but they likely carry lupus:

Fixed a sagging sunroof liner with some glue:

And replaced the steering shaft main seal, it was letting engine fumes in (new on top, old on bottom):

Found a bunch of cracks around my steering box so I removed it and plated the frame. Also tightened a loose wheel bearing and replaced all the TRE’s. Check your frame for cracks! Installed a bowfin cruisers roof rack too.

Wow that's a ridiculously clean engine! I have a lot of work to get there... did you disassemble it piece by piece and clean/paint as you went?
Thank you. Yeah, a while back I pulled the engine and tranny and did a lot of "while you're in there" and other OCD things. It is "as new" so that's a good thing.

Seat belt mounts use 11x1.25mm fasteners. That size is difficult to come by. 7/16x20 will thread in.

This is what I did when I went all in on my 80 being a 2 seater. I found some on Amazon. First set they shipped they had forgot to thread.
