Thanks!
I drive with headlights on 100% of the time.
I do the same... probably one of the best safety "mods" out there. Part of the reason I went with the rock auto bulbs, at $8 each even if they only last a year its no big deal.

These bulbs require -0- modification. They are much brighter than other bulbs I have used. They are supposedly the "brightest" available without any other mods. I have had multiple eye surgeries and need LOTS of light downfield to see what I'm doing and I love these the way they are. They are not enough for some folks, but for legal on-highway, I love them. I drive with headlights on 100% of the time. I get about one year out of a set. and I drive 15K-20K miles per year.
I also have (4) additional driving lights installed that are 100 Watts each of the old-school halogen bulbs. That REALLY brightens things up.
The bulb itself. I just did this and it's a huge improvement and really easy to do. I did it right before a weeklong trip in the southwest where I had all variety of roads and weather, including hours and hours of driving at night in the snow, and I was SO HAPPY I did this before leaving. Just compare the bulb you take out with the 9011 and trim the tabs to match. It doesn't have to be millimeter perfect. There's a lot more written about the 9011 bulbs on here if you search. I used a Dremmel but apparently finger nail clippers work great. I also took the old o-ring off the original bulb and doubled it up on the 9011 o-ring, since they are slightly different (only the low beams, the high beam bulbs have the same size o-ring already). I don't know if this is necessary to keep out moisture, but I did it just in case.

Gave "Easy" a new set of parking light bulbs and wiper blades. Then took it out with Baby_Dub to go find some adventure in Ventura County.
It was cold and rainy, but that didn't dampen our spirits. This was her first trip to the mountains with Daddy and she had a blast. As soon as we left the pavement she started giggling. As I crossed some ditches she'd yell "Wow!" and laugh even harder. I think she's got the off-road bug.
The truck did great on some easy trails from my old Subaru days. I'm used to wondering if I can make it over an obstacle, now I'm wondering if I even need to slow down for it. I stayed in Hi-range all day and bounced around the river-beds and canyons with aplomb. This truck makes everything too easy, hence the name.
Thanks for the info guys. I'll swing by my local parts store on the way home and see what they carry.
They'll have em in stock, but for $20-30 each bulb.
Only thing is I need a replacement now so I don’t want to order them and wait a couple days. I drive to and from work in the dark these fall days.
The child seat in the middle of the back seat is like Capt. Kirk's spot on the bridge of Enterprise. Now when we travel as a family I'm the pilot, is the navigator, and the little one is Captain of the S.S. Easy. Just as it should be.
its a 1976 apache mesa.cool trailer what is that?
You've got a lift and no running boards and you can get your daughter into a car seat in the middle of the bench? You must be really tall/strong/flexible! My wife tried putting our car seat there. Needless to say it is back on the passenger side again, lol.
Option B - pull your brights and install in the low beam sockets (trim to fit) for a few days until the new ones arrive. No brights for a few days shouldn't be a major issue.
Always replace headlights in pairs. It gives a more even voltage to both and they will be the same "color" when you do.Good idea. So I went in there to do just that and found I already had a 9006 bulb in my bulb bin so I plugged that in. The previous owner had already installed a headlight harness kit and was running the Sylvania 9006SU bulbs. Now I have two working bulbs but a super bright and not so bright. Oh well, guess I’ll be “that guy” until my order is delivered.

I've tried doing it one at a time and the second one usually fails within 30 days anyway.
I think your other headlight was just ready to die. I have been running one LED and one Halogen for almost 3 years. They would have significantly different voltage.
So YOU'RE that guy, driving down the road at me with two different color headlights, pointed different directions looking like Marty Feldman!!!
